Never read any of the books, never been a fanboy of the movies, so as long as this series is putting out quality material I will be happy.

I'm not really sure I want 7 years of the show, as much as I like it. I like the story so far, I'm fine with the changes or adjustments made to the story arc, and characters.
I'm not sure I want the Silence of the Lambs story re-done, especially since they'll have to do it without Clarice Starling (lifetime owns the rights to that character.) Im fine with re-re-doing manhunter (red dragon) or hannibal, but the Silence of the Lambs? I love what Fuller is doing with the series, I even think Mikkelsen might be a better Lecter. Hopkins version of Hannibal in Silence is such an iconic portrayal, and the movie is one of my all time favorites. I just don't think anything can be gained by a re-imagining of that story.

My original desire for a 3 year show stands, but a fourth year to do the red dragon story would be fine. Then Fuller needs to get to work on that Pushing Daisies movie.

fwiw, Fuller's made it clear that he wants the rights to SotL assets and keeps trying to get them. They obviously don't have the rights yet, but that could change by season 5 and there's certainly plenty of time for the situation to change. I'd like to see them get access sooner for a more gradual and natural introduction, but you work with what you have.

He has a genuine reverence for the source material, judging from interviews. I have little doubt his team could do good work with that material if they ever get the chance to work with it. They've actually already done some work with it with stand-in characters, and people haven't reacted negatively (or seem to have even noticed). I'd take that as a positive indicator, but I absolutely understand why people that were such fans of the original movie would still be wary.

Not sure what I think of Will having NOT killed that redhead, or at the least learning that he didn't. I kinda liked the mystery that was there regarding how far Will was willing to go in his quest to take down Hannibal. Perhaps everyone else knew Will wouldn't resort to cold blooded murder, but I wasn't sure. Hannibal messed with his mental state once already, I considered it possible he could do it again.

Hannibal makes his own peeps.
The scene with Margot & Mason post-crash was disturbing as hell.

I guess the pre-op scene had a Dead Ringers feel to it. I'll take everyone's word for it. That is one movie I am not at all eager to watch.

This show took me a while to get into, mainly due to a lot of bullshit network restrictions and tropes, but I have to say it has grown on me. There is still plenty of stupidity to go around (That dude swinging the cello string like a ninja? Come on now) but I love how bravely dark the show is.

It's pretty good all in all.

Two things.

1) Michael Pitt is doing a great job this season auditioning to be the new Joker.

2) Never do psychedelics with Hannibal.

Season finale tonight. I'll be bummed if we lose Fishborne's character but given the set up I don't see how it can turn out any other way. He might not be killed but can't see how he doesn't at least end up brain damaged as a result of that shanking.

That was a great scene. I laughed.
Michael Pitt must be having an absolute blast with his character.

This show is so much fun, it will be a long wait for next season.

I very rarely cringe, particularly watching TV, but the nose thing got me.
Then to follow it up with a joke?

Perfect.

No.

No. Fucking. Way.

Jaw, meet floor. Floor, jaw.

I could barely breathe during the commercial break after that shove. I can barely think right now, let alone process everything that just happened. Fuller wasn't kidding when he said they had plenty saved for the finale to tease with that fight scene in the season premiere.

Well played you cheeky bastard. Well played, indeed.

Great finale. An absolutely phenomenal season. I will be picking it up on Blu Ray and watching it again.

Can't wait for season three. According to Fuler it's gonna be a sort of mash-up of the books Hannibal and Hannibal Rising with Lecter on the run and presumably Will chasing him. He's also said that, besides Will, there's no telling who'll survive the season two finale.

So Will survives?

I haven't read the books so I don't know the storyline that they have to follow, but after that finale and seeing how much blood he lost, learning that he survives seems like a cop out on the show's part. He's a great character and probably irreplaceable, thinking he was killed off I was wrapping my head wondering who could replace Will, who has such a unique persona and played Hannibal's counter so well. Still, him surviving almost feels, to me at least, the show wanting to send the finale off in huge fireworks but then not having the balls to follow through with what they did out of fear that any replacement for Will would hurt the show. I can see how they simply used the blood for aesthetic purposes, but watching that scene and seeing just how much blood was on the floor I assumed he couldn't have survived that.

That said, I can see how Hannibal could leave Will alive. Not so much for the others. At least with Will, I think Hannibal respects him and enjoys the power play between the two. I could see him choosing to keep that game going, and leaving him alive, injured, and forced to witness the deaths of those close to him seems like another move in Hannibal's playbook. As for Jack and the doctor, not sure why Hannibal would allow them to remain alive. They always felt like mere pawns to Hannibal and i don't see how Hannibal would find them worth keeping around.

My guess is will & Alana survive. There were flashing lights as Hannibal walked away from the house, and they both seemed to be alive at that point. Having Abigail return, and subsequently be killed doesn't serve much purpose if it isn't what drives Will to hunt Hannibal down.

Im really interested in seeing what roles from the books are used, and how they get changed from the original. Dolarhyde, Lady Murasaki....
