Shit... I didn't know about the HOF show on 12/15. Here's another one:

Dec 15 Kenton Club - Mosquito Hawk, Bison Bison, Black Pussy, Diesto

Nice, have you played the Kenton Club before? It's somewhat in my 'hood but I have yet to check it out.

What is up with Sunn0)))) being at Roseland and HoF being at Dante's...not complaining necessarily but that seems backwards.

Because there's something wrong with the world.

But also HOF has played at the Roseland before... albeit not headlining as far as I can remember.

Sunn0))) won't be loud enough to make it fun at Roseland.

If you can't 'feel' it it's a pretty weak show...unless they have interesting guests, anyway.

HoF at Dante's should be fun though.

I haven't played the Kenton Club yet, but I've seen a few shows there. I like it a lot. It's a similar setup/size to The Know with a kind of separated bar and band area with a decent stage. KC's got a nice patio out back too.

Crazy. How are they going to fit all of the hipsters in there? Jokes aside, should be a packed room.

I think they're still working things out or possibly putting feelers out for a larger venue? They have this down in this week's print ad for Dante's/Star, but no tickets or word officially from anywhere else.

Updates.

eh, at my post above suspects, the SLEEP show was apparently a hoax. It disappeared off Dante's print ad this week. So I've edited the list to reflect this. No need to get excited until something concrete is confirmed.

Maybe they're shooting for a large venue (fingers crossed)?

Tomahawk are playing there the night after! It's been a dog's age since Mike Patton's done anything in this town.

Almost six years by that point. Great news. Though perhaps not so great those two shows are back-to-back for less ambitious types.

And FYI, Plan B is re-opening next month as The White Owl Social Club.

No problem. It's something I enjoy doing. I can only see it NOT being fun when I get to the point where it becomes impossible for me to get out and see live music, whether that is physical, mental, financial, geographical, etc...

Updates. I'm pretty fucking stoked that Star Theater put FUCKING BOLT THROWER in their ad this week, but remember these are the same folks that advertised SLEEP at Dante's at the end of last year, so stay fucking tuned...

Man, we really have it good in this town, for being somewhat of an outpost in the grand scheme of things geographically, March is going to be phenominal with just mostly local happenings. Nearly every weekend night has multiple rad events occurring. And this coming off an awesome February (Wovenhand, YOB, OM and ENSLAVED for me).

Holy crap, I don't know what to go to tomorrow:

3/23 Ash Street - Coven, Headless Pez, Cemetary Lust, Gorgon Stare
3/23 Hawthorne Theater - Nile, Ceremonial Castings, World of Lies, Heathen Shrine
3/23 Slabtown - Behead the Prophet, The Need, Johnny X & the Groadies, Disemballerina
3/23 Dante's - Danava, Occultation, Borrowed Time
3/23 Club 21 - Glitter Wizard, The Shrine, Dirty Fences, Tiny Lady

And there's one missing: Star Theater - Fireballs of Freedom and Black Pussy for free!

Probably hitting the latter because who knows if/when Fireballs will play again...

Danava ended up KILLING IT that night, but I think I remember seeing you made it in there that night. Fucking hell, they were great.

Sorry for the gap in updates. I headed out of town during my normal time to do this and shit is just getting back to normal for me now.

Fucking BOLT THROWER is sold out, so I hope you got yours if you're into that. Pretty impressive, given the size of that place.

And I'm seeing Prince(!) in the Roseland next weekend! A pretty penny, but fuck, it's a once in a lifetime type of deal. I don't think he even knew Portland was on the map in the 80's, when he was doing most of his live shows.

Pretty mighty roster of shows over the next couple of weeks with Stumpfest, Prince(!), the returns of killer Fall into Darkness alums Subrosa/Wild Hunt and Ghost (haven't heard the new stuff though)!

Anyway, updates.

RIP Jeff Hanneman!

Updated. Pretty much everyone of these lists could be dedicated to that dude.

I have a novel idea... Red, would you (or anyone else) be interested in making a Google Calendar for all these shows? We could then post the link here, we could subscribe to it, and it would always automatically update for everyone whenever you add shows. You could also make it public so people can add their own shows... I'd do it but I rely on this and Facebook invites for show announcements, so I wouldn't be very good at updating it...

Also, shows:

7/4 East End - 4th of July block party with Diesto and TBA
7/20 Star Bar - Diesto, Hungers
