"Take Five" was a favorite of my Dad's, so I heard it a lot around the house when I was young. An awesome smoking & drinking song if there ever was one.

Was sad to hear about this. I enjoy his music and he seemed like a real class act. I'll never forget him on Burns' Jazz doc, narrating the story of returning to the states after WWII with the mixed-race band he'd been playing with for the troops. Sad news.
