I want to start a fuzzy, thick low end stoner rock band with brutal death metal vocals. Cookie monster growls over fuzz riffs. If you're interested let me know. No one's done it yet.

Think Weedeater meets Cannibal Corpse without the bullshit irony of modern stoner bands. Whatever anyone calls the band, you must be willing to call it stoner rock. If you're into it and write riffs, let me know.

Fuckin a.

Sounds like a great idea but... it has been done before. Beaten Back to Pure. Not saying you shouldn't do it, just sayin'.

I always thought of Beaten Back to Pure as more Southern metal than stoner rock. I guess it's a fine line sometimes. Even so, I'm talking more fuzz-based groove, bright tones and that kind of stuff.

That's fair enough, and I think they definitely evolved to show more of their southern metal side. I always wound up, especially with the debut "Southern Apocalypse," thinking that they were a stoner band with death vocals. It's definitely not a black and white thing and they were heavier musically than something in the Fu Manchu/Nebula camp.
