The Body -- All the Waters of the Earth Turn to Blood

Hard to categorize. Sludgy doom with female choral singing, electro glitches, a chamber ensemble, manic barking. "Difficult" and "Arty". Not sure I like it, but it is different.

Started filling out the BOC vinyl collection a bit more over the weekend, found Cultosaurus/Agents/Rev By Night for a couple bucks each and grabbed 'em, they had Imaginos too but I let my buddy take that one. Pretty surprised with Rev, still ultra 80s sounding but I liked (not loved) the majority of the tracks on it with only a few stinkers in the mix.

That's a great one.

Yeah, just got that one a couple of days ago. I've only been able to give it a couple of spins so far, but I really dig it.

Just dropped some more money on eBay for more vinyl:

English Dogs - "Forward to Battle"
Various Artists - "Hardcore Unlawful Assembly"

Hardcore Unlawful Assembly is a legendary crazy Japanese Hardcore comp. It was hard to tell if the one I was bidding on is an original or a bootleg. If it's an original, $27.99 is the fuckin' deal of a lifetime. If it's a boot, well, that's still probably not too bad. I've never seen a boot of it before so I'm guessing that's not all that common either and I think it's an import at the very least.

It's pretty obvious that middlebeercake's Fulbright grant was entirely for the purpose of record shopping. I don't believe you have done any actual real work otherwise. Really dude, how many records were in the trunk of that rental car?!

Middlebeer, next time in Chicago we'll hunt for vinyl properly. The good outdoor flea market has been done since the end of October. The other one goes all year but doesn't deliver much vinyl.

Hows that NEKTAR? Early stuff? Theonly one I saw in the old days was "magic is a child" which was kinda twee and unKrautrockly compared to what I heard about'm. Almost like it was being pitched to Yes/Tull fans....or maybe Starcastle ?

Oh yeah: Used CD's from Dreadful REcs. in Col. OH. MAinal a wax store but they deal in cds.

IMMOLATION- unholy cult
MISERY INDEX - retaliate
NAPALM DEATH - diantribes

Yeah, it's earlier...from 1972, it's their 2nd LP. The work, itself, is great (Lightly distorted organ, guitar that goes from lulling to near-metal scream, nice vocal harmonies) definitely a "keeper" of a prog album ...but the sound quality of the CD transfer gets a MEH++.

all complaints aside, this one and Remember the Future (album #4) are my favorites from their catalog.
