I am indeed. Would much appreciate that.

In that case: we could do a nice beer exchange if you're up to it: roll a few bottles of something we can't get our hands on here in your t-shirts in your suitcase (you have to check in your luggage, in that case), and I'll bring some Klein Duimpje or De Molen brews (two breweries that are really bustin' caps in my ass lately, that are only 15-25 kilometers away from my home town).

One local beer bar has Flying Dog's K-9 on draught at the moment. I was surprised they range it 'malty' on their website, because it was pretty hoppy too.

Got a 1/2 barrel of the Avery IPA in the kegerator right now. Delicious, slightly citrusy and not overwhelmingly hoppy.

Trader Joe's Vienna Style Lager - tasty

Poured into a American pint glass frosted in the freezer.
A nice one inch white foam head, great lacing.
Beautiful rich amber color. Nice bubble.
Toasty on the nose.
Malty and medium bodied. Nice finish.
A real sleeper at $5.99 a sixer.
Marzen drinkers should appreciate this one.
Prosit!

*I started this sixer earlier today... almost gone.:)

What's up with that Basil Hayden pint glass!?

When they build the new T.J.s here this year I'll check out that beer.

gonna pour some Bridgeport Hop Czar since they had it on sale. A decent hoppy beer from Portland, Ore.

Love Chimay.

Tonight I am drinking some Oatmeal Stout from Breckenridge Brewery. Surprised that I like this as much as I do; I didn't think Breckenridge Brewery had a good stout in them to be honest.

Adam,

Next time you're in check out the Winter Warlock, if you haven't already. It's an Oatmeal Stout from Bristol down in the Springs. We look forward to having it every year. Nothing kooky, just a good stout.

Sam Smith's is sort of the benchmark beer in the style.

Will do.

I keep meaning to check out the Sam Smith Oatmeal Stout as well as their Nut Brown Ale but always end up getting something else instead.

Hoist a pint tonight in honor of Don Younger, who passed away this week. He was the owner of the Horse Brass Pub in Portland, OR. A legend in the beer community and a pioneer who started offering delicious beer in 1976. He loved a smoke, a Macallan and a good brew. I'll miss seeing him camped at the end of the bar during beer festival.
RIP Don.

I tentatively plan on heading down to Falling Rock after class on Tuesday. I have that Winter Warlock on my radar.

The more of Breck's Oatmeal Stout I have drank the more its carbonation comes to my attention. Wish it wasn't that effervescent.

ahhh, sure will. I've got a can of 21st Amendment Brew Free or Die (superb somewhat creamy IPA 70 ibu's) as well as an North Coast Rasputin that I'll pour in memory of. Played a few dart games there, never met him afaik, but yeah, the Horse Brass! went there maybe 20-25 times and enjoyed the place.

Just had a few Hofbrau Dunkels with dinner at the pub by my house. Very Nice for this time of the year. Whats Even better is right after Don Mcleans American Pie was on the Internet Jukebox my $ kicked in and a bunch of 50 somethings were forced to hear Anal Cunts version of Escape The Pina Colda Song . Up next a pint of the Peak Organ ic and The Prohibition Alewi with some Clutch on the juke before I get 86'd. Stay evil my friends.... S.o.t.d.

I had a lot!!!! of Hertog Jan and Grolsch lagers, some Henkel Trocken Sekt before (and inbetween) that and finisthed it off with a close to a bottle of Pinot Noir (Spanish? I think).

Fuck you and the horse you rode in on.

Bought an Anchor Liberty ale last night. Haven't had it yet, but am looking forward to it. Can't remember the last time I had one - 10 years ago?
I hope the change in ownership means more innovation from them. They kinda stagnated there for a while. Their beer is still good, but they haven't been keeping up with the rest. Sierra Nevada was also a bit on auto-pilot for awhile but have stepped up their game recently. Looking forward to the release of the Abbey beers. Ovila is the first one.

Not a huge fan of Breckenridge, this is about the only brew they have that I'll drink. Their IPA is pretty rough.

I also like Breck's Avalanche but do find their batches can be very hit or miss. Sometimes they taste watered down other times I find them enjoyable. Ambers tend to be one of my favorite styles.

Anchor Steam used to be one of my favorites. Haven't had it in a long ass time though.

Tonight drinking some Fade to Black Batch 2 from Left Hand Brewery. Pretty good.

Finally trying some Samuel Smith's Oatmeal Stout.

Probably should have waited for my dinner to digest before getting into this because I think my stomach is a little too full to fully appreciate it.

Picked up a bomber of Oaked Yeti Imperial Stout from Great Divide and one of Avery's The Reverand earlier as well as a single can of Monk's Cafe Sour earlier so got that waiting but probably for another day.

I'm from Belgium, so it's impossible for me not to reply to this thread :D

I you're ever in Belgium, be sure to try these ones, you won't regret it (although they're not really similar to your everyday pilsner, lager, ale style of beers -- they're much stronger, both in taste and alcohol level).

Picked up friend at the airport, he came in from Germany and got me this (not the Chimay)....

The Duvel and Tripel Karmeliet are both available here in the US and I agree both are very good. Not sure about the Westmalle Trapiste.

Adam,
They are all available here. You should go get the Westmalle Tripel posthaste.

And you should come down to the bar tonight as we're having a benefit for a former brewer (Great Divide/Anderson Valley, etc.)/great dude who was injured on the job.
Rare beers from Pizza Port/Lost Abbey and more. Beer up for auction too.
