just like a pillar hit in a car wreck, you can't unstretch the metal. the best you can do is cut and fill.
This is the only legit use I can think of for that Crom forsaken antimony solder. just add a little bit just inside the 1/4" jack opening so that your cables plug in solidly again.
try not to over-do it, and if you do, use the soldering iron to remove it. filing makes metal filings which you really don't want inside your electronics.
Ive not measured one with a micrometer yet but was told Monster cable makes oversized plugs to stretch out your jack so only their cable fits right.
