I really dig it, thanks for sharing!! Appreciated.

And I like the vocals quite a bit, they remind me of another band/singer that I can't quite bring to mind right now....

I've known this bands name for 10+ years and never heard their music. Will def give this a spin. Andy ever listen to the Glifted album "Under and In"? It's Tim from Hum and T.J. (Bassist from Love cup) electronic shoe gaze. Its awesome if u like that sort of thing. Kind of weird, but really worth it after full multiple listens. Google it, no band camp link I could find. I mentioned it before on sr.com several years ago, around the same time I discovered Centaur

Glifted never did anything for me. as much as I liked MVB, and swervedriver a couple other "shoegazey" type bands...

the new nothing album makes me think I was missing out.... so 90's
like finding a brand new favorite worn out blanket

I've heard about Glifted from a friend, and I think I've even heard a song of two. I'll have to dig deeper and see what I think of it, thanks for the reminder!!

I really dig Nothing. That's a great band.

ya know, as much as those groups have a tie to our ralph snart rev 1 & 2 discussions, from the music I've heard over the years....I've never really gotten into bands like MBV, Swervedriver, Slow Dive, Lush, etc...the UK shoe gaze era, most of it sounds pretty samey to me.

what I like about that Glifted album is the electronic aspect, and if you listen long enough, there are def hooks in those songs. It's weird, creative, and poppy once you recognize it. Pretty creative branch off for Tim Lash, considering he had been playing fairly straight forward (albeit amazingly written imo) alt space rock with Hum for so many years.

Nothing is doing a pretty cool thing, they are taking pop/noise/alt/punk/post-punk/post-hardcore and mixing it with shoe gaze. It really translated well when I saw them live in Boston last year.

If I'm in the mood for melancoly type music, I def prefer a band like Shores out of Grand Rapids, MI over those 90s shoegaze bands. slowcore > typical shoegaze for me personally.
Neutron/Andy, you might dig these dudes;
https://shores.bandcamp.com/album/split-7-w-creepoid
(check out the song "Weak Trees")

Also why I like Pinebender so much. Slowcore + Hum + The City of Chicago

Creepoid (out of Philly, I think they have tie to Fight Amp and other more noisey/metal bands in Philly) are noisey/emo-ey/shoegazey type band kind of like Nothing that have been gaining a lot of popularity (relatively), and touring a lot. I don't really dig that much what I've heard, but some of yunz might.

Really dig Creepoid, kind of a True Widow vibe that I really like. Anyone into Narrow Head? Killer band out of Dallas gaining some notoriety. Less pretentious and more strait forward than some of the bands mentioned. I think you guys will really like this. Kind of a gem. Wonder if Godshifter's into them...

Immediately I looked up the Boston date...and saw it was a Monday night, and I was sort of...eh shit, weekday night, and I've sort of seen this twice now in the past three years. After thinking about it again, I'm leaning towards it. And yes, we will cheers finally if I make it. Recruit Seamus too.

Hey, Hardcore peeps. Got a more 80's question tho: Can somebody here 'splain the "real" Dr. Know vs. the not so real Dr. Know?!?

I'm still not sure which one I'm listening to....

Are we talking about the Nardcore band, or the guitarist for Bad Brains??

By the way....Traindodge 20th anniversary show Sat 8/6/16 in OKC.

Strongly considering going..by myself no less. That would possibly cap off my midwest rock pilgrimage.

Course I haven't mentioned that to my wife..yet

The Dr Know I'm familiar with was an early to mid 80's HC band, and had Brandon Cruz as their original singer. Each release they moved closer to a crossover-thrash type sound. Last thing I ever heard from them was wreckage in flesh. Decent, but I thought DRI and Suicidal did the crossover thing better.

Yeah, I dig it quite a bit! I got the album a couple weeks back when I saw it recommended in here. They have a great sound.

Do you guys like Title Fight?? Their early stuff was pretty stripped down and by the numbers post-hardcore, though on their last album, Floral Green, there were some songs that got pretty Hum-ish.

Their latest, Hyperview, really continues in that vein. It reminds me a bit of Hum mixed with Swervedriver, with still a touch of dissonance and abrasiveness from their earlier days, kind of the like the self titled Jawbox album....check it y'all.

Friends of mine are releasing their new album. Again recorded by Alan Epley & Eric Albert.
Some decent midwest rock.....

Into Another - Seemless

This album has been hitting the spot. Dig this one more than their previous efforts. Top notch post-hardcore with an East Coast grunge vibe.

Seemless I didn't like as much as the first two. Left it in Dylan Thomas' mailbox last year. I think he was into it.
