Never like them ever...until I heard this track on an underground radio station

I'm just shooting in the dark now going through what I imagine I would like from their early discography only.
I think I might dig this album as well.

I like Syd Barrett from Soft Machine stuff, but don't know what his input was in PF.

The thing is, I really love Popol Vuh, Tangerine Dream, Ash Ra Tempel etc. so there was never really a desire to get into PF - I had those bases covered. You throw in burnt-out painters and construction workers reminiscing about glory days behind the bleachers tripping on LSD listening to PF with their loser buddies and they became even less desirable to me.
Enough time has passed that I have an open mind to give them another shot.

Dood. Get everything up to and including Animals is my advice. Original vinyl (of what i've managed to find in the bins thus far) is esp. hott sounding. Atom Heart Mother gets the least play of those.
