Far out San Francisco Raga-Fusion with most of the emphashis on the Raga. Have to admit to loving the sitar & tabla and the LSD zonked-out hippie Zombie goddess choruses make this an awesome psychedelic Freak Out! Deft musicianship/songcraft. Authentic early 70's Acid Folk vibe throughout.
My copy is the 1971 UNI reissue and came to me still sealed. Still unavail as CD reissue. Thank you ebay and dusty used bin LP sellers everywhere. This is a keeper.

thanks for posting this, I would have never heard this album. I, too, love some far out, freak out, sitar psychedelic masterpieces. now I have to try and find this on vinyl for a reasonable price, ugh.

Cool. I had this LP on an ebay search for months looking for a fair price too. Discovered it during my down-loading off Blogs frenzy/making Wyrd Folk cdr comps phase. I pulled the trigger on one of those cheaper/clear out the stock Buy-it-Now dealios. Paid $24.99 delivered to my door. And yes my copy came sealed. That was a surprise. Good luck. It's really fucking good.

Please post other like-minded stuff. I'd dig learning more about the genre. Turning others on is what it should be about.....

are you familiar with the album 'yesterdays folks' by US 69?
could be a bit heavier but definitely groovy.

'orang-utan' was finally reissued on vinyl last month, it has not left my turntable since... solid gold.

Hmmm. Yesterday's Folks. Will check it out.
Already have the most recent Orang-utan reissue CD. Good enough for me.

let me know when you listen to 'yesterdays folks' and what you think if you don't mind, not a perfect album but good nonetheless...

This is really good similiar. 1971. George Harrison produced. My copy is the remastered Apple Records-9176722, 2010 CD reissue with bonus tracks.
