Was listening to some tracks off this album earlier today. Gotta say damn this album smokes! Really love all the riffs and John Lawton's vocals are really spot on. I also dig the creepy vibe throughout. |

Awesome tape. Someday I hope to find, and be able to afford, a copy on wax. |

If side 2 was equal in quality to side 1, this would have been the greatest Hard Rock album in history. |

I just found Banquet on vinyl, having not listened to them before. What a marked difference between their earlier and later material. I definitely like the earlier stuff better, haha. |

Every song on this album is good. Makes me wonder how John Lawton was never able to capture the same magic after this album. I like some of his stuff in Uriah Heep, but no way is it better than this. |

I hear covers of Keep Goin' all the time now that I've finally listened to this. I just listened to Groupies killed and that is a good one too. Weird mix of 70's hard rock and prog but the singer is great |

I don't recall ever hearing their first, but I have had When the Groupies Killed.. since it came out on Billingsgate (in the US). I always thought of it as the greatest Deep Purple album that they never made... |

Finally got an original US pressing from 1973. It came sealed and delivered to my door for less than $40. Analogue sounds sick. Without a doubt one of the heaviest LPs from 1970 in a year full of heavy. |
