What's your favorite Grand Funk album ?

If you have more than one fave, talk about all of them.

I'll take their 2nd one: Grand Funk s/t (aka the 'red album').

I think it features a solid set of songs, and I dig it's heavy, bassy groove. I also like Mark Farner's voice and soulful singing. He comes across as very sincere, and I like that, too. Mel Schacher is a powerhouse on Bass and Don Brewer is an excellent drummer.

Interesting review, Woody. That festival you mentioned sounds killer.

Grand Funk Live was released right before my birthday, and that LP and a trip to Shotgun Sam's Pizza Parlor were the gifts I received from my parents that year.
Doesn't sound like much now, but I didn't mind. In fact I was on top of the world !

The Live album is my favorite and also my introduction to the band. Studio I was always partial to Survival, which is really the opposite of GF Live, really laid back comparitively for the most part and kind of melancholy.

To be honest, I cannot really pick one. I like them all. I will say that I'm Your Captain/Closer To Home, is my fav. song.
