Just watching this fantastic doc cum live film. Since we're in a new home can someone school me where to go Gallagher wise?

I've got the double disc BBC Sessions, that's some creme de la creme. But of course the first two solo albums are real good, as are both the Taste albums.

There is a CD of IRISH TOUR '74. It was a double lp from the lenghth of it. It may be out of print. I have the CD version-dunno if its identical but its awefully nice with some streaching out; 8,9,10,11 minutes. Mines from 1988 on Demon records. Was there one tittled, "against the grain", that had an almost latter period Alvin Lee level of attack ? I haven't heard it for a minute.

The live albums are essential listening - Irish Tour, Live In Europe and Stage Struck - and are decent starting points. As far as studio albums go, Rory Gallagher, Duece and Calling Card are probably the best, some of the later stuff like Blueprint are OK, but better versions of the tunes are on the live albums. Jinx is underated IMO, cos it contains 'East Come Easy Go', which is my favourite tune of his - his playing is very Peter Green-ish.

Taste's 'On The Boards' is also worth getting, as is the recent 'Ghost Blues' documentary DVD.
