1977/ a good late 70s version of mahogany rush, he was still time warping the same sound he did at the start of his career. but by 77 he had started to add synth work and a much slicker production to his lps. a couple of clunkers on here but a good lp for 77 and i do love anything mahogany rush. most of his late 70s work has been reissued on 2fer cds. good way to collect em all

Good pick, I own this on cd. Marino had some real good stuff in the 70's.

The dude is my all time favorite guitarist. I sat down and made a list and worked it out and, yep, he's it.

I own every album the guy has ever recorded whether it be live or studio. So, with that said, I'd have to say no album of his, whether it be under his own name or with Mahogany Rush, is a home run. The closest one is, in my opinion, his most recent one Eye Of The Storm which was released in the early 2000's.

All his albums have some great material on them but they're hit and miss. Probably the one I like the best and listen to the most is his REALlive which is an 04 release. In fact, I'm listening to it right now.

I would've never thought to touch anything after the early 80s, but if Godeshifter says it's alright, then it's alright.

Frank MariNovember is easily my favorite rock month. Even more than Manowaugust.

His biggest seller, no ? Was "juggarnaut", on this ? Love the Helloween cover of it. Godshifter- I know what you mean. I LOVE Bill Nelson, (mebbe my fav. guistist after Saint Jimmi), in Be Bop Deluxe but the material is often lacking and doesn't live up to his guitar talk.

"Juggernaut" is on, well, Juggernaut. It also includes one of the closest things he's ever had as a radio hit, "Strange Dreams" which, surprisingly, does not have a single guitar solo.

"Poppy" is a live work out that does not appear on any studio album. It is on his Double Live and REALLive sets. It's probably my favorite FM tune of them all. Great guitar work on that one (especially on REALLive).

Yes it is an awesome instrumental workout. I need to check those albums out.
