I just recently picked up their 2009 Manticore re-release...and have to wonder how this band did not hit it big. Not one weak song on this album, some great hard rock.

How did one go about choosing what was good enough for the radio and what wasn't back then...

This whole album is smokin'. I find it quite diverse. The 2009 re-release includes some live material..which is very cool.

Yes :( They had no money and recorded it under bad circumstances.

This guitar player is such a bad ass. Real Billy Gibbons/Leslie West. Tone for days. This is a must hear record w/ only one dud ("A Letter"). And yeah, avoid the second Lp. I guess the guitarist went on to do the music for The Wonder Years.

Keep hoping to someday come across a clean LP of this. Until then the recently remastered CD will do. Yep, great songs and killer guitar heroics. Think: If The Nuge went a bit Glam between s/t and Free for All.

Saw them support ELP back in 1973, they were superb and the debut album was a killer, still got the vinyl. Avoid the second album though utter garbage!

I recently saw this LP at an estate sale for a buck. I was excited at first but unfortunately it was in terrible condition..Lp and the jacket. It saddened me to leave it behind.
