Check out Cactus jamming in the basement getting ready for their 2007 shows. No idea who's house, but they are rocking it!

You two, the guy from Anvil and me! That first record is super solid. The following ones are really good too, but the first is extraordinary.

Their studio tapes are all good, but their live stuff is outstanding. The ones Rhino put out are just killer. I also have some great bootlegs including a great show in the Bronx from 1970 when they had a 2nd guitar player in the band.

I need to check out some of the live stuff, I dig Cactus, but find their records really spotty. What's a good live recording to check out, Woody?

Rhino Handmade put out two different live tapes called Fully Unleashed: The Live Gigs Volume 1 & 2. Each volume is a double CD-tape. Great sound quality and killer performances. Volume 2 has some songs with the line up when Peter French of Atomic Brewster/Leaf Hound was singing for the band. They might be out of print, but shouldn't be too hard to track down illegal mp3-tapes. There's also a pretty famous bootleg from a 1971 WLIR radio broadcast.

As a drummer, you'll love Carmine Applesauce's killer flamadiddles.

I have that Fully Unleashed vol. 1 and it's friggin' unbelievable. Boogie Rock 101.
Now it seems I have to find that Vol. 2. I'm a big Pete French fan.

Just doublechecked, Volume 2 has a few songs with Ron Leejack on 2nd guitar. Those jams really rip. I think Peter French might be on Volume 1 towards the end of disc 2 on the songs "Bad Mother Boogie" and one or 2 others.

I'm a huge Cactus fan...one listen to my band will tell you that. I really need to check out the live stuff as I haven't heard any yet.

I love the fact that Woody refers to everything as tapes!!!
