Like most all live albums it's pretty much a greatest hits deal with a couple oddities tossed in. The good thing about this album is it came out in 1978 so it's not bogged down with a bunch of crap. Aerosmith probably has six or seven greatest hits albums at this point and I would rather listen to this than any of those. This sounds more "live" than most live albums from this era...you know Kiss Alive 2 or Double Live Gonzo. There's some feedback here and there and a couple grand finale type things. I'd stick to the proper albums, but if your in a greatest hits mood this should satisfy that urge.

I love this album! Great versions of Lords Of The Thighs, Chip Away At The Stone, Last Child, and Draw The Line.

Yeah, those are all strong songs so you can't go wrong. I like live albums myself.

Good not great album. I bought this on vinyl when it came out and listen to it a lot.

Hasn't stood the test of time, though. Pretty rough sounding (as a live album probably should be), so I get fatigue after a bit of time on revisits.

The track listing on side four is kinda funny. It looks like al l"covers" but within that there is some Aerosmithery. Better'n that Stone live @ El Macombo thing. Did pull out the dollar copy I scored and forgot and spun it. Solid. The older I get the more singers bug me tho-maybe its because its the most pure "attitude" position if the singer doesn't play. Its a-ok.

Good not great. The strength is this was Aerosmith at the top of their game. Mostly recorded 77/78. The weakness is that this is them at their most wasted so the live shows maybe were not always the best...It's a real good bunch of songs. It's not overproduced and super cleaned up with a bunch of overdubbs, which is pretty cool, but probably the reason I don't pull this one out too often. Best in small doses.

It's great in places but agree that it's a bit spotty. In a way, that's sort of what I like about it - that they didn't overdub everything and make it perfect sounding. My favorite part is all the firecrackers going off in between songs. It's pretty nuts that bringing fireworks and bottles into a show was the norm back then.

I love this album. It's raw, sploppy and wasted...perfect rock and roll.

The James Brown cover on this is so awful it should be considered racist.

Not since the first Who album... I used to wonder if the James Brown cover on that Who record was a joke. Unfortunately it's not.

I've had this album for a few years and just discovered the poster inside. It's going up for sure.

Agreed that the "Mother Popcorn" cover is awful. I always hated the "Ain't Got You" thing, too.

When I saw the Nuge/Black Oak in '78 in Rockchester it was fire crackers, (BRICKS OF'M), frisbies, bottles of everything, beach balls, feathered roach clips on felt hats on chicks with Daisy Dukes, , a half a dozen Nurses in the back tending the row of wasted heshers, and a haze of weeeeeed. Then the crack down came....hmmm, was it it the Who debacle in Cincinnatti?

Did I mention the dollar copy I got had a "rocks", slipped in one of the sleeves ?

Are you sure this actually happened or did you die and go to heaven during an overdose?

"was it it the Who debacle in Cincinnati? "

I was in 8th grade or so, and saw a commercial on TV that Kiss was coming to the Cow Palace in San Francisco. I jokingly told my mom I wanted to go. To my surprise she got tickets. San Francisco was a 4 hour ride away. Between the time that she got tickets and the Kiss show, the Who thing went down. It was in the news non stop. Mostly it was blamed on General Admission. When my dad found out that the Kiss show was General Admission he said I wasn't going. It was fucked and lame. I ended up being able to go anyway.

One of the best live albums ever! Love the rawness (at a time when a lot of live albums were doctored up in the studio) and the how clear the guitars sound. For once you can actually hear good stereo separation of Joe and Brad. The live version of "Walk This Way" blows the original studio version away!

I think it's a little too hit and miss to be one of the greatest live albums ever.

As a young teen, I used to stare at the collage on the inside gatefold for hours and listen to it all. Loved every song. I still have it on vinyl, has gotten a spin I bet since about 1982! Time to break it out again I think!
