Soldano Hot Rod 50+, Laney GH50L, Marshall 1960A cabinet

I used to run a Marshall TSL2000 and a Randall RH100 through Marshall cabinets simultaneously before my band recruited a second guitarist for live shows.

Here in Australia it's almost impossible to find some of the amps seen in this thread. Would love to get my hands on a Matamp or Sunn amp!

Holy shit, we have a winner! The_brow--I can appreciate the time it takes to look for an old Traynor amp like that, as well as the time that it takes to put together a rig like that with all those amps.

Thanks, but to be fair I do live in the land of Traynor, and they are not that hard to find here. I like to try as many amps as possible, I don't own all of them anymore and there are a few missing from the photos, Traynor YBA-200 and a Sound City Bass150. Having said that, the one amp I would never sell is that Traynor YBA-3. It is the best sounding amp in my opinion, I just wish it had more volume to compete in a band setting (I suppose if I really wanted to I could run it with 2 8x10 but who wants to haul that around). However when it comes to studio time there are no questions as to which amp I bring with me to record. Traynor all the way.

True, Traynors are still a bit easier to find in Canada (I live in Winnipeg). Around here, they're getting a bit harder to find than they were.....same with Garnets.

that is sweet. I used to have an old Acoustic 2x15 cab (106 I think it was called). Tried to blow it up but the amps always failed before the speakers did. Eventually sold in full functioning condition.

I just started playing about four months ago so this isn't anything special, but I think it's a decent set up for learning.

You live in Winnipeg?

Here is our stuff from the recording sessions at Tremont here in Charlotte.

Basically I run the last pic setup live, but the twin towers in rehearsal. The Traynor cab I run the 1966 Garnet Pro (60 watt EL34) for grit, while I run the BTO (120 watt tube) through the 610. I don't have a good pic of my pedal board, but I've put some pretty interesting stuff on there. Most notably a Boss Slicer, which is a hard cut tremolo with more knob functions than I need.

Praise Jebus, I found the Jam Room folks! Talkbass is nice but this feels like coming home.
Right now I'm running my Genz Benz Shuttle 9.0 through my Avatar 2x12 but I usually use whichever 8x10 happens to be available at our practice space.

Yeah, I live in Winnipeg--nice Garnets, Pissy! The one in your first picture (bottom left....or at least the one that has the "Garnet Amps" silkscreen on the metal that's diagonal--from about '67 or '68), that one is super hard to find. One of those came up in the used ads a couple of years back, and someone got to it before I did......never saw one since and even checking through Garnets' EBay auctions list (last time I looked a year or so ago), I couldn't find one that came up for years on EBay. The one that did come up in the used ads, I offered the guy I think $200 more than he was asking for (I think he was asking $450) to "forget" about the other guy, but he wouldn't do it. Fuck!

My main bass is a Fender Jaguar (made in Japan)--they'd discontinued them a year or two ago, not sure why....they play great, have active pickups and a shitload of tonal options. They play a bit like a Jazz Bass, too. I've never really been that crazy about the way that most basses look, but it's about as cool looking as a bass gets.

Your old 2x15 could have been a 406. Mine was made in '73 and that was the last time they used a 1x18 in the 406 model. After that , Acoustic used 2x15 to fill up the 406 cab(and there was 2 different 2x15s, a wide and narrow cab build). So there ya go...you just recieved your limit of useless knowledge for the day. Glad i could help.
Yeah ..these things are built like a tank.
