I feel like all the bands we used to hobnob with all broke up or faded away. Who's around in DC proper or real near-in burbs? There could be the makings of a new stoner rock scene around here - a little more support from the clubs these days, and a little more interest around town. Anyway, hit me off if you play in a DC stoner rock band. |

I haven't seen a good show in DC in ages. Frederick has them almost always, though. |

Ha! Yeah, it's really sad. I can't tell you what a hard time I've been having trying to book our CD release show in DC proper. It fucking blows. We all live in DC proper and we're gonna have to have a CD release show out of town. That's a pathetic statement of the state of heavy music in DC. At least local heavy music. James, we're gonna be heading south in Late Oct or November. Wanna hook something up in Sourvein's neck of the woods? We were thinking of doing something in Chapel Hill or Raleigh, and would gladly head out to cape fucking fear to rock with you guys. Lemme know. |

I've found that alot of people trying to start up a band--wherever they are--when it's something that doesn't fall into top 40 crap, it's pretty hard to manage. I have a good laugh whenever I think of all of the different types of bands that i'd try to form, and then the responses that i'd get.....most of the time, people weren't familiar with the influences or are only vaguely familiar with them. I get the impression that most of those people are just happy to be in a band and playing, but really, if you have nothing in common, I don't think that it'll get that far in the end. |
