So i've been on the search for a while now for a boost/fuzz pedal that will ultimately do all these things:

allows clarity at high volumes (no muddiness) where you can hear the attack (david gilmour),
sweet sustain without too much saturation,
can play chords without too much mud,
will allow the voice of the amp and guitar to cut through.

i've gotten closest to this with my turbo rat but it just doesnt cut it tonally. i've tried all the muffs and couldnt get close to what i want.

i play a usa strat through a 69 sunn sonaro. any gear heads out there who can help a brother out?
maybe a treble booster?

I've tried a treble booster with my strat and it sounds bit too tinny to my ears, I think it would work better with something like a Les Paul where the tone is thicker to start with. That being said the extra treble will help it cut through the mix. All I do for leads is keep my volume down a notch on the guitar for rhythm then turn it up for leads, or a bit of wah always helps, but then there's only the one guitar in our band

Fulltone OCD might do it.

Hey,

Don't discount all treble boosters. I use a beano boost from analog man and love it. It has a switch to choose high/mid/low and it really let's you cut through in any situation. I can get a real stained class type of naisally tone going in any mix with that switch. Depending on what you get, a good treble boost can be just what you are looking for to cut through a mix.

check out some pedals from Jack Deville Electronics. the Deuce Coup is an amazing overdrive with a boost option. i play the Buzzmaster, probably my all time favorite fuzz. they're a bit spendy, but will last forever.
