Established and respected stoner rock / doom / old school heavy southern metal band Orthodox Fuzz is looking for a new singer / vocalist.

We have shows lined up opening for national acts, we need to make this happen ASAP. We play the best clubs in town, have a killer fan base, and have tons of contacts. We have opened for for such noted bands as Honky, Eyehategod, Wo Fat, Las Cruces, Kill Devill Hill (featuring Rex Brown from Pantera and Vinnie Appice from Black Sabbath) and others. More of those on the way. This is serious business for us.

General requirements:

We want the second coming bastard hybrid of John Garcia, Wino, Steve Marriott, Ian Gillan, Dan Mcafferty, Josh Homme, Robert Plant, Ozzy, Phil Anselmo, Layne Staley, and the likes. You get the idea - a complete bad ass.

Practice once a week for 3-4 hours

Contribute to monthly rehearsal room

Gig once a month (sometimes we will have 2 shows)

Be willing to play out of town a couple of times a year (Austin, Houston, national festivals, etc.)

Have transportation

Have a job or income

No junkies

Have a fairly flexible schedule, we do not practice the same night every week

PA preferred but if not, we can work with it probably for the right guy

Be prepared for massive volume and riffs. We are known for playing at deafening volumes and creating a wall of sound when we hit the stage

We are in Tarrant County (Arlington/Grand Prarie/East Fort Worth), but are willing to try and work things out for the right people (we are flexible also) but we have a great room at Avalon in East Fort Worth that we would like to keep

Age is not an issue. Your own style would be great. Be into original music, this is not a cover band (we have played a Sabbath cover and an Electric Wizard cover in the past and are open to doing one from time to time.)

We play just heavy, loud, and dirty hard rock - a hybrid of stoner rock, traditional doom, old school metal, 70s influenced hard rock, heavy southern rock/blues, sludge, and grunge. No sticking to one genre within the type of music we play. We like bands like Black Sabbath, Kyuss, Sleep, Electric Wizard, Fu Manchu, Acid King, Orange Goblin, Clutch, The Sword, Alice in Chains, Soundgarden, Red Fang, Spirit Caravan (anything Wino), Place of Skulls, Trouble, Reverend Bizarre, Deep Purple, Thin Lizzy, ZZ Top, Kiss, Om, COC, Down, Solitude Aeturnus, and the likes.

We play this type of music for the love of it, to be creative and to have fun. We want people who we enjoy hanging out with and want to be a part of something fun, heavy, and different than other bands in the area. If you are looking for a paying gig, this isn't for you. We make a little money from some gigs, but we throw that into a recording fund or to get merch made.

Gigs are never an issue and in fact we have several lined up and several on the horizon ready to be booked. If you want to tour the world or play covers, this is not the band for you.
