| Post subject: | Please give me some pickup recommendations |
for my guitar. It came with duncan design brand pickups that aren't doing the job. What I am looking for are some humbucker pickups to give a good tone for crushing doom and black metal guitar without all the mud. Thanks in advance you very smart people. |

Once you get crushing doom tone, you leave black-metal land behind. I may have a bias, but I think almost any pickup into almost any distortion into almost any non-bluesy amp can get black metal sound. If you want mud out, try a several-band EQ or a cleaner amplifier (more headroom). |
