Thinking about buying a 36x16 marching drum to use as a kick drum. Interested in a superlow thud, but concerned I'd get more of a thwack. Have done some research online into kick drum sonics, but any experiences to relate on this board?

Also curious about how to construct a kick pedal that won't sock me in the kneecap on the backstroke.

Recall some discussion on the old sr.com but don't know how to find the old pages.

36"? Stage prop, nothing more. You should put trucknuts on it.

That's Jon from SANDIA MAN behind the kit. I'm the midget with the guitar.
