Made a quick video of my Thor amp in the studio. Its a 70's valve amp, 120 watts, British, it's got some quick cool features, the buttons along the left will patch inputs together, so with the 4 inputs you can have 1+2 etc. Theres also a mute button. Its crazy loud!

How do you get that fat tone out of a strat? I mean, strats are generally pretty bright and a bit thin sounding; it's not only that amp, right?

It's set on the neck pickup which has a fuller sound, though I do still use the bridge sometimes, the big muff gives it quite a lot of bottom end, the amp has middle set around 5, the bass about 6 and the treble about 6. The cab I use also seems to kick out a lot of low end, I used an orange cab earlier this week and that was even more bass heavy. The amp certainly has a fair bit to do with it, I can't get the same tone from a Marshall for instance.

Thanks for the info. Tried this out yesterday (though on a smaller practice amp); sounded pretty fat after some tweaking. Muffs are pretty nice with strats (using a bass big muff); they tend to compensate for the less lowend provided by the Strat

That's it the big muff adds a lot of bass on the right settings, so it takes out some of the twang. It's always fun to get that sort of sound from a strat and confuse people a bit. For me I prefer playing a strat to a gibson or similar
