Blackbird was before my time and I never checked in otherwise... How were the acoustics and stage setup there? Changes and renovations aside, I'd love to see The Know v2 get a taller stage. |

The Know is def the most ghetto live music club i've ever ventured. Kudos to owners moving into a better space! Awesome news. |

If memory serves me correctly (granted it has been 13 years), the stage and sound is a lot like Ash Street, except there isn't a big space one the side of the stage. The room is actually triangular, where the room gets smaller the further back you go. |

Has been a discount mattress store, Irish bar, strip club, steak house & swanky low light dinner club in the past iirc. Parking is a bitch. First PDX sunn0))) show with the magikkal mystikkal Runhilde on vox was here. All the old-school SR.com folks were there. |

Yeah, I was just coming here to post that. Nice people, although the Bar Rescue episode made him look like a bit of a jackass, who was way in over his head, but I have to admit I wasn't crazy about seeing shows there unless it was around half-full. Otherwise, it was one of the most crowded rooms in this town if you were actually there to see music. Most of the shows, at least lately were selling out, so I'm not sure what went wrong. I guess they probably only book shows like that four-to-eight times a month, so it likely really dragged when they didn't have a show going on. It's kind of in a bit of no-man's-land neighborhood-wise for a more blue collar place. It'll probably pop up again in a few months under another owner. The new The Know is opening up a few blocks away from here in March. It looks like the few shows they had booked at The Raven are moving to High Water Mark or Analog Cafe (haven't been here, and haven't heard good things). We will see. |

Fuck. That sucks. The room and sound was a bit wonky, but at least it was another live music venue close to home. WTF happened? OLCC flexing some muscle again?!? |

Tonic Lounge/Panic Room/The Raven is returning March 23rd as the Tonic Lounge. First show back will be hosting Dead Meadow and the Noothgrush show that had been scheduled at The Raven will continue to go as planned in this space. http://www.portlandmercury.com/blogtown ... this-month |

Funny when my first comment in this thread actually applies to the initial post. Perhaps I should edit that to other bands when Sepultura isn't coming to town. Thanks for always keeping up this list, Red. |

9/6 Tonic Lounge - Wovenhand That looks interesting. Wed night & won't have to deal with downtown parking nightmares. Sadly, that's about it. I'm happily stuck in the past. |

10/24 Tonic Lounge - Wolves in the Throne Room, Pillorian Might hit that show too. But man, has their sound changed since opening for YOB, waaaay back when (iirc.) They were a bit ragged at first, but really different and impressive by the end of their set. |

10/24 Tonic Lounge - Wolves in the Throne Room, Pillorian Sold out! 2nd show added. Toilet Floaters could pack the Roseland in this town. Easily. Not quite a sell out, but close i reckon. |
