Thanks. That would explain why I couldn't pinpoint it.

As for Fu Manchu, they've played Dante's in the past and appeared to do really well in terms of the crowd. Might be they're looking to play a 21+ atmosphere, too.

There have been several 21+ shows at Hawthorne recently (GOBLIN and Monster Magnet for a couple), so he's losing a significant part of the bar, but maybe he's worked that into the Dante's deal. No skin off my hide either way, just surprised (pleasantly) to see it.

5/3 Dante's - Fu Manchu

Yes! No work conflicts on a Saturday. Dante's is argueably the 2nd best club room in town after the remodel. (YMMV...) One of my first SR bands and still one of my faves. Can prolly talk my Aussie audio geek buddy into going too.

Thanks again for teh updates, Senor Rojo.

I gotcha man. It'll probably be another month before that part of the calendar really starts to fill up.

Updated; the first since I got back from Florida. Friday (tomorrow) has an insane amount of options, but I'm going to work on Saturday to get caught up from vacation, so no fun for me.

Pretty stoked about the announced Black Cobra and CT9 show, especially after seeing BC fucking level Mississippi Studios last weekend! Good stuff.

5/22 Star Theater - Jex Thoth, Witch Mountain, Usnea
6/27 Roseland Theater - Yngwie Malmsteen, Uli Jon Roth, Gary Hoey, Bumblefoot

It's an amazing Summer of concerts this year in PDX. Enough to drag my sorry, dead ass out is sayin' something. Sadly, the motivation to bother is a day by day thing now. Most times it's alot smarter for me to just stay at home. I can get a concert level experience anytime.

Hi, do you have any updated info on the show listed as:
7/26 The Know - Ash Borer, Hell

I saw them play at Rotture on 6/26, and truly loved it. Would love to see them again on 7/26, would go for sure, but having trouble getting confirmation a 2nd show here in PDX is actually planned. Can't find anything on either band's websites. It's listed on The Know's website, but they did not confirm it's for real.
Thank you

The event has it's own Facebook page and 68 people are signed up to go (which is a lot a week out for that room), so I'd say it is a go!

It is/was an odd coincidence they played here on 6/26 and are playing here again on 7/26, but it's that kind of town!

Thanks for checking into it, hope it holds up. I made it 70 on that page you linked. That'll be a tight fit at The Know's little floor.

Post subject:  Re: Portland Oregon shows

Thanks again for confirming that 2nd Ash Borer/Hell show, both bands were just as great the 2nd time around.

Meanwhile, maybe you can help unravel another mystery, please? Vektor (with Lord Dying opening) is said to be playing Saturday, 9/27 according to Ash Street Saloon (the same night High On Fire plays over at Dante's --a bummer conflict in its own right), but according to Vektor's own facebook page, they say they're playing Ash Street on Sunday, 9/28. With plans to see Hawkwind and Witch Mountain (Uta's last PDX show) on 9/28, I'm hoping Vektor's show is really on 9/27. As always, thank you for helping me find shows I love to see.

EDIT TO ADD: ^^^ Vektor replied that Ash Street was correct, and Vektor has since fixed their facebook show listing. Another confirmation is I printed out a ticket, and it does say Saturday 9/27. With Amon Amarth having 9/29 reserved, now if only HOF would shift their show to Friday 9/26, all would be well in the PDX universe.

Rad, glad to hear it. I will be out of town for the High on Fire show, so that'll end my 15 year string of seeing Matt Pike shows (I've seen HoF every year since 1999, with the exception of the year he came here with SLEEP)!!!

Some of you might want to contribute your voice to the Portland underground show pricing discussion group at facebook.

Description: "A group for the continuing reasonable discussion of how best to price underground shows in Portland and elsewhere. Getting the details out in the open so we can maintain and improve underground shows for bands, bookers, venues, and our scene(s)."

So far it's a mixture of people related to bands or the business side of music, so it'd be nice to hear from more fan perspective.

So glad I check here periodically. I follow EHG regularly, but they've had no mention of coming back to Portland again this year. Not yet anyway, and you've proven to get things right, so I'm marking this down on my calendar. Grabbing a ticket as soon as I can find them being sold anywhere. Thank you!

That's a very flash room for an EHG show. Hilarious. Didn't this place used to be called Vendetta? Recall seeing Fu Manchu there. Good sounding room and nicely appointed, heh. On a Thr. night. Hmmmm. May show up after work to catch EHG.

Thanks for letting us know about even more upcoming shows, including Goatwhore which I hadn't realized was all of a sudden right about to happen. Do you have a "Donate" button? These artists enrich my life, and as an extension so do you. I try to help out, buy some merch or just pitch into their tips jar. Please let me know if there's a way to help you keep this going.
Thank you.

Thanks man. If we ever run into each other, you can buy me a beer or two. I like putting the list together and it sort of forces me to keep my head in the scene. Keeping on top of the current scene/bands, at least locally.

That Goatwhore show came out of nowhere. I think it's a stand-alone for a larger tour that they're participating in that misses Portland.
