That Google calendar idea is a good one. Anyone else interested?

And good to see East End still going with the block party.

Boy, they seemingly cut the East End party off closer and closer to the July 4th date every year. Cool they're doing it though. I might have to spend the 4th with my family for once this time though. I've been bailing for years and it "is" my birthday.

About doing a more public/easily accessible thing as far as this list goes. I really have done this as a hobby for myself, but also (maybe even in a bigger sense) as a service to El Danno/h.p. taskmaster to help bring traffic to their sites. I do think both of these guys provide(d) a hugely beneficial service to "our" scene and whether my list/updates brings three or 300 people to this site and/or local shows, then I'm good with it. I could have started my own blog or Facebook page a long time ago, but it really isn't my style. If J.J. ever puts this forum/blog to rest, then it would have to be something I would consider.

That makes perfect sense. It's definitely what keeps bringing me back here! Well, to the forums anyway. Mr. Taskmaster writes some great reviews and interviews...

Updated.

A pretty damn good update. Beyond stoked that a legitimate iteration of GOBLIN is going to play here, and with SC3 opening nonetheless. Holy crap!

8/30 The Foggy Notion - Diesto record release with Honduran and Fellwoods. I'm sure there's going to be some kind of entry/record deal, but I don't know what it is yet.

That still happening? Star Bar hasn't put it on their website.

Thanks for another great update. Just picked up my ticket to see Bison play the Wonder Ballroom Dec. 27th; it's been too long since they've seen the likes of this town.

Here's one to add: this past Friday night the guitarist of Lord Dying told me they will be playing the Star Bar on New Year's Eve.

Yep, I updated this tonight. Added that show. A lot of killer NYE options this year, which are tempting to brave on one of the biggest amateur nights of the year. I figure Star Bar should be cool though (older fucks, mostly).

I've tried to go to Star Bar on New Years for the last two years - Fireballs of Freedom last year and Lord Dying the year before that - and it was too packed to get in both times. Go to Kenton Club!

Updated.

Rynne Stump has announced some of the bands for this year's Stumpfest and she managed to pull in Trans Am, which is fucking awesome! A bunch of other locals are slated to play, along with Phil Manley's (Trans Am guitarist) solo dealio. This will happen over the last weekend in April at Mississippi Studios. Always fun.

Seeing YOB on the Rose Garden/MODA Center stage last night was a thing of beauty!

Updated. Strange that Thrasher would put Fu Manchu in Dante's. It must have been requested by the band?

Also a bit blown away about seeing Bl'ast headlining the Star Theater over Tragedy(!). I went to one of their "original" reunion shows in 2000-01 at Satyricon and there were at a max 40 people there, with probably half being the general walk-in/not-give-a-shit crowd. Along this line of trajectory, Spaceboy should be headlining the Star Theater around 2020.

Hey Red, what was the last song YOB played? I spaced out.
