Yeah, Aug and Sep are making up for the lame July we're having.
I'm bored. I'm going to see Nashville Pussy tonight for the first time in probably 10+ years. I like a lot of dumb rock, but they take it to another level.

Crap. I tried to get tickets to the High on Fire [free!] show at MHoW... tix went "on sale" at noon, but when I finally jumped through all of Ticketmaster's hoops, I kept getting an error, but it was vague. Could the tickets have been gone in less than a minute? Since the show is free, I doubt there's much money for scalpers. I went back to the main page, and it didn't say sold out, so who knows.
I'm bummed, though.

I did get tickets but the website was all screwed up for everyone. I called and eventually got thru and they told me that my original order had gone through and gave me the confirmation number. You should try calling to see if maybe it went through and you just didnt get the correct notification.

If not, you can have my other ticket. :)

Sat 09/20: Windhand, All Them Witches, Ilsa, Elder @ St Vitus

I think that's the wrong Elder.
This is horrible... http://elderbandnyc.bandcamp.com/

And, if you don't have anyone for that HOF show, hell yeah, I'll go! I'll talk to you off-line.

Holy Fuck... what is this?

http://www.uninvitednihilgallery.com/bands.html

Edit - now I see bands are posting about it, so it looks legit. I know that area (I live nearby), and I don't know how this is going to work. One bad thing is some of the shows conflict with some of the same bands at St Vitus (like, Lo Pan and Elder playing both places). Oh well, that's a first-world problem.

So, Elder is not playing St Vitus anymore because of the Uninvited Fest. Not sure if it will affect any others. Such a weird fest. there's camping there? and afterparty til daybreak. I don't see package tickets on sale and the tickets are $30 per day?

Thu 09/18: Mothership, Bl'ast, Subrosa, Mount Salem, Call of the Wild, Blackout
Fri 09/19: The Skull, Bloody Hamers, Black Cobra, Sasquatch, Lo-Pan, Dirty Streets, Goat Wizard
Sat 09/20: Orchid, The Shrine, Electric Citizen, Lecherous Gaze, Order of the Owl, Ruby the Hatchet, Summoner, I Am Become Death
Sun 09/21: Weedeater, Elder, Wretch, Marching Teeth, Cosmic Shakedown, Secret Cutter, Fog Cult

@ some parking lot in Brooklyn (http://www.uninvitednihilgallery.com/index.html)

Yeah, I just saw that. Funny thing is, this is right next to the projects. I can't believe they got the "rights" to put this on, but to get bands as big as Weedeater, they must be expecting a serious turnout (I'm sure the guarantees for the bands for this gig are huge). I just don't see how the cops aren't going to be all over this (plus, the people who live in the Gowanus Houses). Anyway, I'm hoping it works out- seems like a huge undertaking, and props to the guy putting it on.

That's some really bunk ass fucking bullshit. I bought tickets to that Vitus show mainly because of Elder.

And I just got an email from St. Vitus with their upcoming schedule and Elder is still listed. The band says otherwise on their facebook though.

Yep. I saw that, too. This whole thing seems so strange... a HUGE show (Emissions-like), biggest ever in NYC, that gets announced a few weeks prior to happening. I wonder if the bands knew about it, but were told to keep it quiet? I've never seen a festival "announcement" like this- usually, they start talking about it in the planning stages, so you can make plans and prepare, etc.
I mean, Sasquatch is flying out for this thing! Then there's the conflict with St Vitus (Elder and Lo Pan, are the obvious ones). Anyway, I plan on going.

So...do you think this show is actually going to happen?? I was thinking of going, it's a great lineup, though the logistics of it seem odd from what you're saying...

I don't want to be a naysayer, and I really want this to work out... I don't know the guy putting it on. It IS a huge undertaking (sponsored skate ramp, motorcycles?, beer, camping?!?- in Brooklyn?, etc) in what seems like a really short timeframe. But, maybe this guy has his shit together, and is well-connected. I don't know how he got the licenses/permits to pull this off. The location is actually industrial enough that it might fly by the local police (I'm sure they won't be far away), and it IS a few blocks from the projects, so the man is used to "problems" around there, haha.
I posted links to all the bands playing in the Gen Disc area. I don't know a bunch of the bands, but I do recognize a lot of them. This is the best US festival lineup I've seen since SHoD in MD (or, obviously the mother of all fests, Emissions).
I'm psyched for this thing.

I just went to the spot... it's an outdoor show. Beer and food will be provided by Lavender Lake (one of the owners is the guy putting on the show). Camping? Ehh, that might prove to be difficult. There's a concrete park across the street- I imagine the crust punk junkie types will probably sleep there (and, get arrested).

Uncle Acid & The Deadbeats is sold out... I didn't realize they were that popular. Actually, I was surprised they are playing the Bowery. Makes it easy to decide between that and The Brought Low. Oh well. It's nice to have a solid back-up plan.

I got my Uncle Acid tix a while back. I am sad that I'm missing The Brought Low though.

I figured the Bowery show would end early enough that I could cab it to TBL.
