I've already seen the Slow Southern Steel movie. It was awesome, but I'm not gonna go again.

I'm not sure how is fest is at Public Assembly, I've been there for a show and it's not bad, definitely loud. It's not that big of a place so unsure how a "fest" would be handled there.

Ha, I checked PA's site for the fest Jeff mentioned... and, uhh, yeah. That's not my bag.

But, look what I found...

Truckfighters w/ Karma To Burn, La Otracina
Saturday · Mar 17

That sorta thing IS my bag!

What? I just checked their website earlier this week and that certainly wasn't there!

What is that show? Is that doom like the way goth and keys and broken heart songs try to be doom? Because that's not my bag either, and i've never heard of any of those bands aside from evoken, who I always put in the goth/doom category and never actually listened to.

Am I dead wrong on all that?

I don't know anything about any of those bands but they're calling it "...the finest mix of Doom, Dark Death Metal and Black Metal that NYC has ever assembled for one show."

Dead Congregation from Greece
Grave Miasma from the United Kingdom
Cruciamentum from the United Kingdom
Sanguis Imperem from California
Kommandant from Illinois
Prosanctus Inferi from Ohio
Anu from North Carolina
Encoffination from Georgia and California
Father Befouled from Georgia and California
Perdition Temple from Florida
Evoken from New Jersey.

Meh, I'll pass. Getting my death metal fix on at MDF anyway a month earlier, not that I'm into death death metal at all mind you.

Well, that opens up my June slot. Orange Goblin, High On Fire, feel free to come along in June and give me a show I want to see.

Thanks Ron.

Sat 05/19: Pallbearer, Loss, Sewer Goddess @ Saint Vitus

I am so excited to see Pallbearer. Tickets are already on sale for this and if this is the day of my cousin's wedding, I'm gonna cry.

Yay! Looks like we're starting to see shows from the badns that are headed to or leaving MDF!

Fri 05/25: Church of Misery, Rwake, The Gates of Slumber @ Cameo

I added Cameo to the Brooklyn venue list. This is the first time I'm hearing of this venue. Tickets are already on sale for this one, I would recommend buying them now, I have a feeling this is a small venue.

Cameo 93 N. 6th Street, Brooklyn, NY 718-302-1180
(between Berry and Wythe, behind the Lovin' Cup cafe)

Also added:

Fri 03/09: Sourvein, Order of the Owl, Family Crushed @ Acheron
Fri 03/09: Pop 1280, Metz, Vaz, Teenager @ Death By Audio
Fri 03/23: A Storm of Light (Members of Red Sparrowes, Neurosis), Mustard Gas and Roses (Ex-Isis), Magic Circle (Members of Mind Eraser, Rival Mob) @ Saint Vitus
Sat 04/21: Fight Amp, Giant Squid, East of The Wall and special guests TBA @ Saint Vitus

I'm so excited for that show. Thanks for the tip on the venue. Hopefully work will be kind that day, but I'll buy my ticket just in case.

YOB at the Bell House + others tba Brooklyn, NY 5/23/12

4 days before MDF appearence, didn't have to drive to Maryland to see YOB this year apparently. Already got my MDF ticket so I'm skipping this. No idea where that venue is either...

YEEEEEEEEEEE-HAW!!!

Sorry I won't see you there Jeff. But to be honest, work has fucked me out of Yob before, so I'm not even sure if I'll be there.

Good luck brother. YOB were awesome last year at Le Poisson Rouge, epic even, just not nearly loud enough. I'm hoping MDF will fix the volume issue. Hope you make the gig on the 23rd at least :)

Ah, the Bell House rarely gets hard rock or heavy shows... mostly alterna-stuff. It's in Gowanus, only 1.5 miles from my place. It's a decent venue, though (sound/size/whatnot).

I've seen a couple of shows at Bell House and also think it's a solid venue, will be cool to see YOB there.

Thanks Jeff! Added the show.

Glad that I decided not to go to MDF, all the bands I wanted to see are coming to me!

Autopsy/Funebrarum/UNEARTHLY TRANCE/Undergang (Denmark) 5/4/12 The Bell House, Brooklyn, NY 8:30

Don't know of the two sandwiching UT, but Autopsy and UT should make for one varied fucking show. Hope I can make this. Already have tix to Loss/Pallbearer and MDF in May though...

Tonight- Sunday...
Truckfighters and Midnight Ghost Train at Pianos.
And, it's free for you cheap fuckers.

Incidentally, Midnight Ghost Train are pretty good. They are the best band I've been surprised by in ages.
