Hello, folks. For those of you that don't know, I work at Mad Oak Studio here in Boston. We're the studio that's brought you a rather large chunk of recent Small Stone releases (Solace, Gozu, Roadsaw, Suplecs, Sasquatch, etc etc), and I wanted to share some really exciting news.
I just typed a whole long bit on our Facebook page, so I'll just copy it here:
Quote:
Santa hooked us up with a piece of Boston (and beyond!!) musical history: the famed Tweed console which was housed at the world-famous Camp Street Studio. Not only has this thing rocked great music for the likes of Black Sabbath and Robert Plant when it lived in England from its birth in 1978 till getting shipped States-side in 2000, it has been serving up some of the best sounding Boston rock records under the careful hands (and ears!) of Paul Q Kolderie and Adam Taylor at its home at Camp Street Studio in Cambridge since 2002.
With the unfortunate closing of Camp Street last month ("unfortunate" is the understatement of the year; the importance and impact on Boston music that that studio and the people who worked there had is immeasurable), the Tweed needed a home, and it found one at Mad Oak. We are beyond ecstatic and deeply indebted to our good friends Paul, Adam, Alex, and Johnny for making this dream a reality.
We'll be hooking the Tweed up in early February, and we cannot wait to start making music with it.
This is totally huge for us. The heritage of this console is immense (BLACK FUCKING SABBATH!!!!!), it sounds amazing, and we're really proud to be hosting it. For those curious, you can check out some pictures of the movers bringing it in here:
