This show ruled, Saint Vitus on a full US tour in 2012, with Weedeater and Sourvein, great idea! Wino was in rare form, looked pretty toasted. Chandler is a madman, so underrated and awesome, unique guitar playing, amazing. The guy has been doing this shit as long as there's been a punk/metal underground in America. Weedeater was fantastic too, hadn't seen them in over a year. Sourvein, as usual, had some new players in tow, but there were some old faces, including Cool Clyde back on drums after his stint with Gates of Slumber, and an old school member Josh Fari on guitar.
The crowd was not big. Lots of folks in my town apprently blew off this show, because the club is not popular and is in the shitty entertainment district, and the show was 'expensive', but Jesus, Saint Vitus hadn't played a local show in this city for 25 years, I find it hard to fathom that people are so determined to be judgmental about the circumstances of shows like this, a legendary band with top notch support in a hometown music club. The musical payoff was so great, probably the best of the four times I've seen Saint Vitus since they returned, I'd really regret it if I blew off this show. DO NOT miss this tour if they come near you!!
