Started this this weekend. I get it on demand because I'm still a cable sucker/subscriber. Pretty amazed that a show of this quality is on the barren wasteland of the USA network. It plays like a BBC/AMC drama. The platitudes of the main character are pretty juvenile but it's presented like a Kubrick film.

Anyone else on this?

Yeah, I dug it. I saw the twist coming from the beginning, which I don't always, but it didn't prevent me from being sucked in.

Me too. It didn't help with the inevitable Fight Club comparisons that kept creeping in my head but I think this show is better than Fight Club (for many reasons that I don't want to spoil). I did like that they didn't spell it out for you once the twist was revealed (like in Fight Club).

This show (first season) got a lot of accolades, so I tried, but quit about five or six episodes in. Just kind of rambled and seemed like typical cable TV fodder.

What seemed typical to you? Where did it ramble? I thought it was really solid, especially for basic cable.

I don't think the creator of the show expected to get more than one season, so I felt each episode was written strongly and there was a complete, well-planned story arc for the whole season. Season 2 is where things could go to shit, but I hope not.

I've heard a lot of good things about this show and my one brother keeps telling me to check it out. Going to be a rainy weekend so my plan is start watching this.

Same here. It also seemed like the edginess of the main character was so fake and manufactured. A bunch of characters I just didn't give a fuck about and although I quit after 4 episodes it seemed like the overall plot was just gonna be an even more convoluted mess every week ala Lost.
