Okay who else is stoked???

I can't stop watching this trailer!! One of my favorite things to watch lately(especially while baked). Gives me goosebumps to see Han Solo back again dammit.

All I want to know about this movie is when I can buy tickets to see it.

I dunno. I liked it. It reminded me why I liked Star Wars. And BB-8 was the real star of the show. It's far and away better than the prequels, but that is not saying much.

Come to think, it's been growing on me,and it's not so bad. It's actually the darkest and most bleakest Star Wars yet. Not as good as the originals, but it's a helluva ride.

I liked it a lot. It was basically an homage to the original trilogy, which I had no problem with, washing the bad taste of the prequels out of the audience's collective mouths. I think in the next couple of films JJ Abrams will be able to put his own stamp on the series.

I saw this and 'The Hateful Eight' on back-to-back nights around Christmas and Tarantino's film felt a lot the same way; fun and familiar, but nothing new or groundbreaking. That film felt like homage as well.

Abrams won't be directing episode VIII and IX himself though,

***SPOILER ALERT****

No mention of midichlorians, no Jar-Jar, no Senate debates = win.

But, they better not have to blow up a super evil planet destroying base ever again.

I loved it. Saw it twice in the theaters and I've bought the DVD.

Bear in mind, I also LOVE the prequels, the animated Clone Wars series, the comics, the books, etc etc....

I'll defend "Revenge of the Sith" but otherwise the prequels are for idiots like myself who feel the need to have everything. They are the Tony Martin Sabbath albums of Star Wars movies.

I think I've seen "Force Awakens" close to eight times now. The attack on Starkiller Base falls apart with repeat viewings but the first half never fails to delight. Like a Ronnie James Dio Sabbath album.

Rehash (sorry, "update") of the first movie, but with some interesting differences. And it was a lot of fun. And the end actually made me excited for the next one, so I'd say mission accomplished.

My experience of the prequels is much different than you describe Arz. They're obviously very different than the originals, and The Phantom Menace had some scenes even I find questionable. The directing isn't great, so the actors don't turn in the best performances, though as far as the plot lines, mythos and work building....they far surpass the simplicity of the original trilogy. I'm more likely to reach for one of the prequels than the original trilogy at this point (I LOVE Attack of the Clones!!!)

The Clone Wars Cartoon and all the other nonsense I have....those are definitely for complete-ists
