Oh shit, I really want to see this...

It was in a nearby theater earlier in the year, though I kinda spaced on going. Too much work, too little free time.

I just watched the entire documentary on Vimeo.
I always knew Jodo was a lunatic, but I also know that he was mad with enlightenment...like all great artist should be I guess. The Jodorowsky being interviewed in this movie is absolutely disarming. His age and wisdom give him a natural benevolence I wasn't prepared for!
Like a true Magus, his stories are hypnotizing an enthralling, and I sat on the edge of my seat spellbound even to this moment (days later).
Highly recommend this documentary, especially the interview with Giger ;)

He has a new movie coming out with his producer friend from this aformentioned
failed DUNE endeavor.

I've never read Dune and I don't think I've ever watched the Lynch version entirely. Also, I've never actually watched more than some trailers for Jodorowski's films. This was still an interesting documentary. He wanted Pink Floyd to do the music, Mick Jagger to star and Douglas Trumbull to do the FX. I would definitely go see that. I would even pay decent money to get a copy of the massive storyboard book he created.

I watched this around New Year's and since it's part of my cable package (free Showtime), it's been a late night standby for me when there is nothing else on. I've probably called it up five times even though I rarely watch it all the way through. Just too many entertaining parts; bringing aboard David Carradine, Mick Jagger, Pink Floyd, MAGMA, Salvador Dali, HR Giger and submitting a script for a 14 hour movie straight-faced to 1970's Hollywood.

It was cool though that they showed that what became from the collaboration afterwards, that basically the writers and artists for 'Alien' mostly met and came from this project. And Jodorowsky's interview segments pretty much all mostly golden. Such a cool/unique perspective!
