Probably not, but I do want to see it. Hopefully in a couple of weeks when we're down at Mom's for Thanksgiving.

Not the biggest Bond nut, but I think this one will be good. All the elements are there.

I would be more excited if Quantum were as good as Casino Royale. So probably not. But I'm still looking forward to it, and am hoping it's a great flick.

I thought "Casino Royale" was mint. I sit down on the couch like a turnip and watch it whenever its on tv.

Reviews for this one are good.

In some respects, it apparently transcends the past movies and becomes something a bit more relevant and meaningful than the standard somewhat goofy shtick of past movies. Sam Mendes directs (which caused angst among many Bondites), but apparently he did a nice job of walking the line between giving nods to the franchise, yet making a coherent, stand alone movie at the same time. My interest is definitely peaked.

I haven't seen any of the newer Bond flicks with Craig in them. Perhaps I'll remedy that at some point in the not-so-distant future.

Saw it. Really reminded me on Nolan's Batman films, especially the villian's part and his plan. In a good way mostly and It compares well to the Batman film. It has a theme that builds over the movie. Everything works in the film. The callbacks to the past Bonds are nice. I went in expecting a long movie so it didn't drag for me. Story made sense initially but I try not to dwell on them but I think it would hold up. There is one element that kind of seemed glossed over or I just missed it completely. The ending action is only thing that seemed not quite as satisfying. It sets up a ongoing story arc too. If I'm comparing to Quantum of Solace, this one crushes it and is up there Casino royale.

I saw it in X digital. Holy shit, that is awesome.

Saw it on the premiere here in Sweden, and it is amazing. Best Craig-Bond yet. It continues the modernization of the character and films that have been going on, but at the same time brings in more of the classic Bond-elements. A perfect mix between the old and the new and a start of something really great I think.
Two and a half hours of goosebumps and chills. Fucking awesome. And Bardem does a CLASSIC Bond-villain.

Nearly as good as Casino Royale, but as vol.4 mentioned the final action sequence was a little anticlimactic...but it's a small gripe on my part, because the build up was great. A corny line here and there, but Bardem was stellar and even the over-the-top action was fun. Looking forward to more if they can keep this level of quality. I am relieved, because Quantum was absolute shit.

loved this film..saw it about 6 weeks back..

Probably the best film of 2012. Good mix of old bond/nu-bond and Bardem nailed the villian role like few have.

great story..long but you dont get tired and you're not screaming for edits..ending more than satisfying

Great scene in Shanghai. Probably my favorite part.

Spoiler alert and whatnot

I love how people complain that Bond's family is a rip off of Batman's, yet the most common theme in John Le Carre's novels is that the best spies are rich orphans.

Anyway, I liked the flick. A mish mash of your typical spy thriller with a bit of Straw Dogs thrown in for good measure.

yes, the final scene was very reminiscent of the Peckinpah classic.

***CONTAINS SPOILERS***

Thought the first half was really good, second half really sucked.

They've been making these things for 50 years now so I get that at this point it's a tough task to do something fresh while staying within the parameters of the tried-and-true Bond formula. I loved that there was a deliberate downplaying of ridiculous gadgets that plagued the series during the Roger Moore and Pierce Brosnan eras. Ralph Fiennes will make a cool new M, although for me it was a bit startling to see how much he's aged since The Constant Gardener, a movie I will always associate him with. And I still like Daniel Craig as Bond, even though he's yet to be in a really good Bond film.

That being said, I hated the Western-style siege. Once we go to Skyfall, it stopped feeling like a Bond movie and it became a cliche of other movies. And I think Javier Bardem was as bored of his Anton Chigurh-meets-The Joker villain as I was. Also, I nearly wept when the iconic Aston Martin DB5 was needlessly blown to shit.

Highest grossing Bond ever, though. And everyone else seems to like it. Oh, well. I think my hopes for the franchise died when Tarrantino was ruled out of ever getting a crack at it.

Finally got around to seeing this. Thought it was really, really enjoyable. I didn't know anything about the plot beforehand, but for some reason I had it in my head that this was the final part in a trilogy about that organization. I kept waiting to see how the hell this tied into Casino and Quantum, but once Bardem showed up I realized this wasn't going to touch on that. The beautiful shots of Shanghai made me think of Blade Runner, and also made me really want to go there and to Tokyo sometime in the near future just to stare in awe at the "sci-fi turned reality" atmosphere. (spoilers follow)

I'll disagree about the final fight at the hotel. I thought it was a great flipping of the script of the whole "storming the castle" motif that we've seen in every other Bond flick, and I liked that to finally get some semblance of control over events he had to do something that's never been done before in a Bond flick (at least not that I can remember). The final scene with the Moneypenny and male M introductions was a great way to end a flick that was filled with nods to the pre-Craig films. I was too caught up in what was happening on screen and didn't see either of those coming at all, but the clues that lead up to them were well done. Bardem's character definitely felt like a throwback to villains of old, but even that was changed up and flipped a bit.

I wouldn't be disappointed at all if Craig stayed around for one more Bond flick, but this opened the door for a rather clean transition to a new actor if they decide to go that route. I saw a couple rumors before Skyfall came out about Idris Elba taking over afterwards. I'd be perfectly fine with that.
