So I'm looking for some good films to watch over the 'sit around farting, full of food and booze while mildly braindead' season.

Maybe comedies, maybe not, just some warmtime films that aren't too heavy but aren't sickly sweet.

Any suggestions?

I'll try and remember what I've already seen that meets the criteria.

A Christmas Story is required viewing. Thankfully one of the cable networks, TBS I think, has you covered there.

Bad Santa. It has a heartwarming ending, at least.

Hotshots Part Deux

We used to watch it every boxing day. Parents would have loads of people over and we'd watch that with all the kids. Great fun.

Hmm, I'll give it a shot but actually thinking about it comedy is a bit of a tricky one in our household.

I like dark satirical nasty comedy, Erin likes some surreal stuff (think Bill Bailey).
There's very little overlap, and loads that we both think is rubbish!

I don't know if this is your thing, but I'm a huge MSTie and "Santa Claus Conquers the Martians" is always a favorite yuletide tradition of mine.
