Cinematic Titanic movies aren't bad either. That's with the rest of the MST3K crew. They "redid" Santa Claus Conquers the Martians.

Haven't seen it since SciFi stopped airing reruns. There are a bunch of episodes up on Netflix Instant Watch, though. Rifftrax is well worth a look for MST3K fans. It's the same guys from the show riffing on modern movies like Twilight, The Dark Knight, and various other pieces of film. |

My favorite show of all time. Saw Cinematic Titanic do an epic 3-movie show on New Years Eve recently, and will be seeing them again this December. Been watching MST3K since 1996. I used to work at the local Trader Joe's (suburban Philly). It was a weekday, roughly 11 AM, and I was hungover. Enough to consider taking a sick day (I don't recall the particulars but I think it was sombody's birthday the night before). Anyway I show up for work regardless and start the day on the cash register. I swap-in for a co-worker and the first customer in my line looks really familiar. Old high school teacher? Ex-girlfriend's dad? I was too burnt to really put it all together. Then it hit me. It was Joel. He swipes his card, and sure enough..."J. Hodgson". I was stunned. I handed him his receipt and just blurted out "give Tom and Crow my regards". He took a step, stopped, smiled, and shook my hand. In the Top 5 of "Toka's best days ever". |

^Nice story. Very cool. I'm a huge fan, way back in the day it used to be on Friday nights on Comedy Central? Best thing about the weekend, worth staying home from the bars. When they switched it to Saturday mornings, nothing was better to wake and bake to. Our library has a ton of the DVDs, so I've managed to relive a lot of those moments. The one I've never seen is "The Incredible Melting Man". As I've been a fan of that movie since it came out, I'd love to see their take on it. Just one of the best things that has ever happened to television. |

Bill corbett was more vicious with his jokes, I kinda like that. He's great on rifftrax as well. |

They shit the bed & destroyed the reputation of many incredible films that simply had been poorly edited/dubbed for western audiences. Aleksandr Rou's beautiful Russian fantasy classic 'Father Frost' ('Jack Frost' to US audiences) comes to mind. Truly one of the most bizarre, gorgeous things ever put to celluloid, & has a 5.5 IMDB rating courtesy of MST3K. They've since apologized for many of these mishaps over the years, but the damage has been done. |

For me, it was worth it for those episodes. The onus is on the American audiences who are too disinterested in those films, not the show that mocked them. They went by the tapes that were around at the time. Blame shitty international distributors. Not MST3K. For example: RiffTracks makes fun of a ton of movies that I actually like. Doesn't mean they can't withstand the ribbing. Legitimate or otherwise. |
