Wellll...the vampires aren't one tenth as embarrassing as the ones in the Twilight movies.

It's a confection. Lots of violence, tits and ass and weird shit. I'm not embarrassed by the show itself that much, but by the notion that it's somehow similar to Twilight which is just pablum, that shit is fucking horrible. I thought people were exaggerating it's stupidity until I saw a bit of slow-mo floating vampires on Showtime. Jesus, it was the most retarded thing I'd ever seen, and they sparkle? Who wrote this shit, a hormonal 14 year old girl?

Someone once said "Twilight is about the importance of having a boyfriend." I can't say for myself, but if that's true that's the stupidest thing I've ever heard.

The soapy elements of True Blood often help set up the more violent and crazy stuff so it's acceptable. It's not about that, really, people into that stuff will say it is, but no, not really, it's all about getting people naked or eviscerated.

Seriously, though, if they kill Jessica off I'm fuckin' gonna write a nasty tweet or something.

I was with True Blood for the first couple seasons, but they lost me with the werepanthers. I'm sorry. I'll tolerate werewolves, vampires, fairies, witches, shapeshifters, whatever. Werepanthers are apparently the dealbreaker. It's something I didn't know about myself until that show.

I'll give Jeff from Community the final word on Twilight:

Actually, it seems the werepanthers have been shunted off and haven't been seen since Jason made his escape. In the books Jason apparently does become a werepanther, but not so far in the show (and they make it clear it's likely impossible for him to do so, you have to be born into it).

werepanthers?? LOL. So ghey. Shit like that is exactly why I avoid stuff like Twilight, True Blood, and other like minded retardo stuff.

The werepanthers were hilarious inbred rednecks. I kinda liked them. Stupid idea yes, but watching these stupid dirty rednecks was funny.

I beginning to suspect the only reason why my girlfriend watches is because of Eric Northman with his shirt off.

I like Let's Make a Deal and reruns of My Name is Earl .

Also the new Electric Company on PBS. It's very different from the original.

Man, I honestly don't watch much TV, but I'll admit if Pro Wrestling is on and I pass by it, I'll at least stop to see if I can recognize any the faces anymore.

For the most part, I can't. It's been pretty much 10 years since I was watching pretty heavily. So, some of the old-timers I still know, but all the young bloods I have no idea who they are.

I'm pretty much the same. Luckily for us Aussies we get WWE Vintage Collection - basically old matches from the WWE library. Have seen some great bouts as of late - Midnight Express vs Southern Boys being the pick of the crop. Just watched Starcade 92 - Great Muta winning was mega cool.

I'm addicted to Prisoner: (Cell Block H in the US). Not the Prisoner with Patrick McGoohan (great show BTW) but the Australian drama set in a women's prison.

True Blood, 24, Dexter and a couple episodes of Spongebob Squarepants with breakfast every morning.

At least I stay clear of those shitty soap-opera-for-men shows like Californication, Nip-Tuck, Entourage, Mad Men etc.

Why is "Pawn Stars" mentioned in this thread? What's embarrassing about that? Well, maybe if you have the hots for Chumlee or something I guess, but it's a good show, I like it.

I used to watch Days of Our Lives religiously (embarrassing) twenty five years ago. I flipped the channels last week and came across it so I watched for 10 minutes or so for fun. I still knew who half the characters were (still embarrassing).

Some people are embarrassed by things that don't embarrass you. Weird, huh.

"Sons of Anarchy". I grew up close to one of the big MC's in California, and while everyone disses the show, many members watched it every week, haha. "Embarrassed" isn't the right word though...

All the "reality" shows are staged, of course. No production company is gonna take a risk like that in 2011/12, too much moolah at stake.

About all I watch anymore is Batman: Brave and the Bold and Jeopardy! - but the ads on Jeopardy are the most embarrassing part.

I have pretty much the entire Sons of Hercules collection on DVD. This was a regular thing on the tube when I was growing up. And of course I have the DVDs of the Lynda Carter Wonder Woman as well.

Finding Bigfoot and Ancient Aliens.

I watch them both with sheer gleeful awe and unadulterated terror!!!!
All the while saying outloud to myself (unless my GF is being a good sport about things that evening) "Are these people for real? This CAN'T be Real! They sure seem to believe this....."
My guess is that both shows are just some secret government experiment to test how fast the average American I.Q. is declining.....

I live in the South, they show My Name is Earl on PBS <rim>

I caught myself watching TMZ the last few nights, that's pretty weak...

Been DVR'ing Grimm and really enjoying it I must admit. Probably in the top 3 for favorite shows this season and I admit the show is simply a guilty pleasure, not actually good.

so yeah, I'm on Series 3 of Being Human and my testosterone level shrinks with every minute viewed.

still, can't seem to not watch. allthough the large changes between Series 2 and Series 3 might prove to be what is needed to pry me away from this.

The UK Being Human? We liked that, although it fell off the rails towards the end. Should've ended with the last season but I guess their soldiering on for at least one more. Not sure I see the point.

The wife is down with Once Upon a Time and Castle. I can dig the latter more (can't help but liking Nathan Fillion) but the former has its appeal.

My girlfriend has got me hooked on Glee. I'm not proud of it, but damn it, I think I've almost grown to like it now..

We tried Glee when it started, but whatever tolerable winky snarkiness it had was quickly lost. Fuck that shit.

Yeah. Even my girlfriend has had enough of Glee. And she likes some bad shit on television.

Jane Lynch is the only good part, but she left Party Down for Glee and it wasn't worth it.
