I need this on vinyl.

I hear other people saying they think this is better than Holy Mountain and Dopesmoker.
Really!? It's a good record, but not sure it's better than Dopesmoker.

Bill Ward on the "Missing" milk carton and Iommi/Doom Jesus face apparition in the center of the toast. Freaking awesome! Dig the clean mantra vox. Off to a killer green start.

The album is incredible. Stands up with everything they've ever done.

Eh. Obviously one of my favorite bands. I give Holy Mountain a 9/10. I give Volume 1 an 8.5, Dopesmoker an 8 for originality.

I give this an overly generous 7/10 because I like Sleep. It's about on the level of Death Magnetic for me, a valiant effort that captures some of the sound and none of the magic.

I'll pass on buying a copy. I like both the new Fu Manchu and the new Monster Magnet much better than this, and I don't see it having very much replay value for me. I'm going to buy those instead. Disappointed.

Very rare indeed is the band that betters it's studio output/songwriting surprises & chops with time. SLEEP is one of those.

That's a very interesting perspective. Fortunately, there's no such thing as an objective, consensus reality when we're discussing things like this that cannot be qualitatively measured, and are only subjectively experienced on an individual basis.

My experience and opinion are the opposite of yours. I see this as by far their weakest studio album for a lot of reasons.

For me, this is a clear drop in quality from previous outings, ESPECIALLY in the writing department. I don't think the writing is even as strong as Volume 1. The lyrics in particular are frighteningly awful at times, and really turn me off. However, the individual performances are exceptional in my book, and show a lot of progression since Dopesmoker.

Adding Jason on drums is a big improvement in my book, I was never that big on Chris Hakius. I prefer Emil in Om as well.

Unpopular opinions, whatever.

For best results, pair with Blue Dream and/or Irene OG Kush. Lols.
And apparently this was recorded to tape, so the vinyl will at least have an analogue source. Can anyone confirm?

Recently revisited this MAGNUM OPUS ov HEAVY BONG IN HAND DOOOOM.
Holy.Fucking.Shit. Blown away like first time hearing it blown away. (Having a bone crunching, ass kicking stereo system helps the peak experience bloom, btw. If you are listening to this via lossy shit streaming PC speakers.....urmm, you already know the rest.)

If you don't think this is as good or better than any other SLEEP album....you are a stupid contrarian shit for brains.
