Hello friends... I am travelling to Amsterdam then Antwerp next month for Desertfest Belgium and am not having much luck finding shows during the week leading up to the fest, basically between Amsterdam on 10/9 thru Brussels on 10/13 when Fistula is playing. Any residents over there have any good links for heavy/heady show listings in the area or any suggestions for shows going on during those dates? I'm so used to seeing shows when travelling I'd hate to be in a European city and not be holed up in a nightclub every night! Any suggestions are appreciated! |

I'll be at Desertfest - I went to the last 2 and the line up is excellent this year. Don't know about other gigs - last year there was a 'pre show' on the Thursday, but haven't heard of one this year |

I have a friend who lives in Antwerp. I can hook you up with him on facebook, he's really nice and goes to a ton of shows. |

A good time, three nights in Amsterdam and saw some punk bands one night, didn't care for Brussels as much but saw Fistula and Grime at the longstanding Magasin 4 venue there which was cool. Desertfest Antwerp was really well-run, three stages in one venue with an outside court with food trucks. Saw a lot of the usual bands kill it like Pentagram, Uncle Acid, Yob, Weedeater, Elder, Cough, Atomic Bitchwax and Torche, and caught a few euro highlights like Monkey 3, Lonely Kamel, Goat, La Muerte, My Sleeping Karma, Black Rainbows and Antwerp locals Black Swarm. Can def recommend the TRIX venue as a destination. I tend to not do a whole lot of sightseeing but metalchick666 introduced me to a resident of Antwerp who showed me some sights and shared an afternoon at a pub in the center. Met some other cool freaks at the fest including a Dutchman wearing an Annihilation Time patch that turned out to be friends with a bunch of people I know in Richmond which was real cool. All in all a good trip, would return. |

Sounds great! I got to make it over there sometime. They definitely don't lack for music festivals, that's for sure. |
