And she's 15, and she's shaped like an hour glass. And soft spoken type.

Probably calculated that she told my wife and I about her new boyfriend just before her and I left our house to drive her home. kind of a funny/old feeling milestone in my life.

Anyone else have the somewhat awkward pleasure of this duty?

You must admit there's some uncomfortable elements to your post.

I work with 16-19 year olds so I have daily reminders of what an old fogey I am. Just this Friday I was talking to a lad who had considered studying architecture, but was horrified at the idea that he'd be Twenty Four by the time he'd qualified. Th look on his face as he contemplated being so ancient made me feel about sixty.

My 7-year old daughter is playing coach-pitch softball. So, I was pitching to the kids last weekend and one of them hit a liner right back at me that hit me square in the shoulder. After everyone had a good laugh at my expense, the play resumed. After the inning, the little girl walked up and said to me, "I'm sorry if I hit you, sir. I hope you don't have to go to the hospital." I felt like i was 99 years old.

Yeah, I can see that if taken in some one's own context. Sorry, not my intent at all. More so an example of getting old. I'm 41 and I remember being 18 and thinking 41ish was pretty old. It sort of it is

Sir, we recommend you stay, at least, 500 yds. from any school, public park, playground, pet store, toy store or Jonas Brothers concert!

I still look young, might color my hair to be sure, because age is just a number. Hit 40, aint gonna stop me.

At risk of being a perv myself, only thing I can say is that when I was in high school it was the 90s and baggy was in. All the girls wore sweaters and fairly baggy pants pretty much year round. Everybody had terrible, left over from the 80s haircuts, or else they yanked their hair back in the puertorriquena style. And I have to say, when I see high school girls now, I can't believe how they are dressed and how Jennifer Lawrence-perfect they look. The music was probably better then, but the girls are better now. Fortunately for me, I don't think of them as anything but a bunch of kids. Better that way. Even a college aged girl seems young to me now. And I'm only in my 30s!

So with that in mind, how did your bicycling date go the other day?? ;-)
