Yo!

Who's going?
Who's thinking about it?

Obviously the Neurosis 30th anniversary double set should be pretty special, people here talking highly of Ecstatic Vision, Converge, Brothers of the sonic cloth, my friend is busy rating CHRCH highly...

What's going to be great that I won't be expecting?
Some previous year highlights have been being caught off guard by fast/heavy/chaotic stuff like ZU or Trap Them in the green room, anything that'll do that this year?

Mostly I'm just looking forward to the Whole Roadburn Experience again, being back in that gathering of tribes, with a good bud in my pocket floating around Tilburg.
Going to be indoors at a hotel this year, only the second time not camping, luxury but I'll miss safaricamping too.

I am in.

In addition to the 'Whole Roadburn Experience', I am fired up a out all the Finnish dark psych; DBR, MPH, Hexvessel, Oranssi Pazzuzu, etc.

Also looking forward to Diamonds Galas, Astrosoniq, Dead to a Dying World, CHRCH, mondo Drag, Neurosis, Chaos Echoes, and every single Space Rock band.

Hoping the last announcements include 1-2 more old school stoner rock and/or DOOOOM style doom bands, but clashes are already sure to be unavoidable.

On paper those dark psych/experimental bands should be right up my alley but if it doesn't GROOVE then all the beard-stoking just never hooks me. Also anything 'black' is a musical turn off for me, if it's frantic I'd rather it were punk.

Just two of us then?
JJ?

It may not be the Roadburn artistic vision these days but my best memories are of stumbling from psych band to psych band - think there was once a day I saw The Heads, Farflung, Orange Sunshine, Earthless and a couple more mind-twisters with my feet hardly touching the ground.

The prophecy is fulfilled.

BURIED AT SEA on the Sunday.
Tough luck for anyone who didn't get a four day ticket.

By the way, does anyone here have a spare 3 Days Ticket for the festival? I've been searching for one, for a friend of mine :)

Haven't seen Crumbling Ghost since a support slot at some scummy South London pub about a million years ago, never thought I'd see them on the bill again!

Roadburn are saying they are up for people moving tickets they can't use through their Facebook but no idea if there's any going. Scan the forums! I'd say dffd but it's not there any more. Ninehertz?

I will be there! My 3rd Roadburn edition. :) Best festival out there and this line-up is beyond amazing.

I'm also searching for a 4-day ticket - my girlfriend wants to be present as well and I'd love to get her a ticket. Bummer that Doom Forever Doomed is not throbbing online anymore, so if anyone here is selling I'm up for it!

Think I went seven years in a row up to 2012, missed the last three due to baby. As it happened I could have made 2013 but it was too close to when he was due to risk being in the wrong country. I suppose this makes it the ten year anniversary for me heheh.

Eye need to play this thing. They've got an awesome new guitar guy a metric ton of new and reworked stuff and I'm trying to convince M to do a double studio LP with a download code of an additional double live worth of guh.

I'll be there. I loved seeing The Heads last year, and Orange Sunshine were badass as well when I caught them there. I hear you on loving the psych stuff. Some of the more black metal bands aren't really up my alley. I dig Atomikyla though and hope to catch them. They're at least part black metal.

Even if you're not super into the darker stuff, you might want to check out MPH. I loved their Archdimension Now album, lengthy though it was:

Yeah, I would not let the Finnish pedigree keep you from checking out MPH or Atomikyla. Very trippy, with some groovy interludes, spaced out jams, and minimal darkness (though they do get pretty heavy).

Personally, I love the blend of dark metal and Psychedelia--I think they go great together, so guess I might be nodding past some darker elements in those bands. However, I really think they would fit in well at Roadburn 2007 (or a late 60s mushroom party).

Research dossier nearly complete, about 37 bands and around 30 hours of music...

Time to get sampling and obsess over the running order for a couple of weeks.

I just can't get Neurosis' 30th anniversary out of my head. It's pretty rare for me to watch a band's full set at Roadburn, but to think I might be doing it twice in a single weekend. Might've happened for YOB two years ago, but I can't think of another time that would've occurred.

Yes and double yes.

We certainly did both YOB sets but I think that's it. Not going to be missing a beat of these.

Related album of the day: Beastmaker - You Must Sin
Surprising Black Sabbath notes, had expected more of a (post)hardcore flavour here, not really sure why.

Related album of the day: Mantra Machine - Nitrogen
Satisfying stonerpsych instrumental jamming.
Smooth groove.

I hardly post here anymore but yeah, I'm there!

So, what to open with? The Poisoned Glass or Cult Of Luna? And that's just one of many clashes...
