Surprised no one is talking about the new Electric Wizard without Jus and Liz.

This whole album rules. I like it better than anything Electric Wizard has put out in years. Nice, thick heavy sound, not lo-fi garbage. Pleasantly surprised by this.

Yeah, recently dipped into this and it hits all the right notes.

Just arrived yesterday...it sounds like a cross between Cathedral and older E-wiz...go figure? "The Cross" reminds me of Cathedral, whereas the other songs are more toward E-wiz. Still processing it but sounds great! This shit canes hard! (Ha. Remember that?)

It does sound like a cross between Cathedral and older Electric Wizard, superficially, though very superficially. Both those bands have deeper, more nuanced aspects to their sound.

Eh, I'll take this over the most recent E. Wiz, though both Black Masses and Witchcult Today had brilliant songwriting, cool textures, and big catchy hooks. To my tastes, this isn't in the same league. This is alright, though it's really one dimensional. Stock heavy riffs, Lee singing, not much else. No cool jams, no spacey sections, no big hooks. Not much replay value for me. I'd like to see them take it somewhere else on future releases.

As far as Lee Dorrian projects, I wish Teeth Of Lions Rule The Divine would do another album. Probably not going to happen anytime soon....

Not really feelin' it. I'm giving up on 98% of new heavy music. It's been done better before and i already own those CDs. Heh.
