I've got three UFOMAMMUT shows happening within two-and-a-half hours of me, so it's just a matter of figuring out how many I'm going to see.

And you wouldn't need to go to Psycho CA if you hadn't dropped out of seeing live music over the last ten years. The single MUST-SEE band on that roster (SLEEP) just played here last month. That said, I still might get a bug up my butt and head down if it works with my schedule and can acquire a tickey. Even though I've seen 30 bands on the list, it's a good way to catch up on the new/unheralded stuff. My first Emissions (2003) was rad because it drew heavily from the East Coast and South and was my first real exposure to Meatjack, Stinking Liz, Rwake, Halfway to Gone. Pretty good weekend.

Yeah - I'm on it again. I want to keep doing trips to see bands since I don't travel anymore for work I miss it a lot. Now if only more fests were like Hooverfest - noon til 8pm outside on a beautiful day with food (needed chairs and a coat check though) and a bunch of hot tattooed dreadlocked Portland babes.

If Psycho CA delivers it will be for a shot at seeing something new. It's been my experience that there's a bunch of bands that don't really make sense unless you see them live.

I thought about going to that Psycho CA fest, though I wasn't really feeling the lineup. A couple bands I'd like to see.

I'm opting for the Austin Psych Fest instead, that lineup is AMAZING!!! 13th Floor Elevators AND The Jesus And Mary Chain? That's a wet dream come true!

Good for you if you think the number of shows you attend and/or the number of your message board posts equals some kinda Scene Cred currency. Both are equally sad.

Banning a handful of posters on a niche message board with a Block function and a zoo full of fappin' 'n shit-slingin' apes is just a pathetic, clique driven "Power Trip." Gloating about it makes it even more transparent.

In closing: Piss up a rope and take your The Days of Our SRLives.com drameh back to yer interwebs monkey pen.

Any of you are welcome over at SRL.com if you care to visit. We were all once part of the same community once. It doesn't have to be a us vs. them kind of thing.

It's amazing that liberty still has the drive to troll after all these years.

I miss Jay O'Douche.

I will not be at Psycho CA, the closest I get to festival attendance this year is one day at Maryland Deathfest to see Portal and Impetuous Ritual.

I got what I asked for. I can't complain. Cameos from Demon Gal and Godshifter were cool.

Meh it's a Scene thing too - The Scene is dead as will always be the case when there's remotely such a thing a a Scene in the first place. Doesn't mean thers not still people making the music, people listening, going to gigs and so on but something is gone.
On the plus side it means we're not all debating the merits of 'just another Kyuss clone' and instead wondering whether people Here will be interested in hearing about Pohl, Hey Colossus, or Gonga jamming new stuff they've been working on.

Maybe JJ will give us our money back.

Don't try to get shit out of El Danno. He won't even write back "Hi" or "Fuck You" or anything....

just about everyone over there is on meds for some reason or other. not that theres anything wrong with that but it just shows the psycological state that most people over there are in.

Problem is this stuff prolly sounds too much like "Dad Rock" to be enjoyed by teens raised on Hip-Hop. And so it goes.....

Yeah. Message Boards 101. People screw everything up.
Let's just get wasted, crank up the guitar music and bang our heads in the dark....but be mindful to do it responsibly. In other words: Music is free and everything sucks. Heh.

Hey it's demon lung - this fine thread was fueled somewhat by my complaint to let you back in too, along with your girlfriends, but the Nazi moderators on SrL were having none of it. You must have done something unforgivable to StonerRock - like punched Wino in the nuts or called the moderators Nazis once too many times.

You guys over here are a fussy bunch of bitchy short girls I could beat up using only my StonerRock mind. The Communist StonerRocker's on Facebook are way cooler and they are a bunch of old rich people now, and they don't know squat.

back to the topic at hand...
I think the main reason I was drawn to this site was all the information JJ provides on the home page. I find I don’t have to work as hard to seek out new music, he is always on top of it. 75% of the time when I do discover something that i think is totally new, I type the band name in on the home page search feature and inevitably JJ talked about them months before. I do wish the music talk was a bit more prolific, I guess I am guilty of that too, I can post more… I do miss some of the folks who don’t post here anymore though, there were some very good/strong writers who opened my eyes to quite a few good/new bands. when the old site went down i just found this one first. i lurked there for years and i lurk, mostly, here. I don't think the scene/music is dead, the bands I dig are becoming further between, but I still find out about some pretty great music.
