The Australian shows were cancelled because of mental/health problems. They never really went into detail about it exactly, but does anyone here know?

I'm a little disappointed, cause last year's show was cancelled because the promoter fucked them over, and now this year's show was cancelled.

When was that?
I'd be disappointed,but not surprised. People have problems, and sometimes that comes before playing rowdy music to drunk people.
Hoping to see them at Desertfest in a couple of months, hope they can make it.

i think it has to do with the drum mers death if i read right. that and him being batshit crazy if you m ix that with any hard substance then it is a recipe for disaster.

I saw them play a couple of weeks ago, Williams said that his doctor had ordered him to stop drinking and that it was pretty urgent/serious. Band sounded fucking incredible, he seemed 'normal' to me as an observer (i.e. the same as the last couple of times I saw them in the last year) but it does seem like his mental and physical health are very frail. I guess there were some Corrections House shows cancelled on their last go-around for the same reason (even though I saw one of the shows and again, Williams seemed the same as he has for a while). Hope the dude can get himself together, the band is riding pretty high at this point, don't want the momentum to disappear...

It's a bummer, but kind of inevitable. I've had THREE people I grew up with die in the last couple of weeks or so, so if you've lived a rough life, the mid-late forties is kind of the start of when that catches up with you. And yeah, that includes mental health. Not preaching, as I'm mostly in the same boat, it's just reality/gravity/biology working. I can't imagine a sober EHG.

They were certainly less fucked last time they came through here, but then as they killed a bottle of vodka onstage between them while the amps fed back the year before I guess there's a lot of scope to be 'more sober'.

Hope Mike and the rest of the crew are doing ok. Moving in different circles I'm not seeing those kind of casualties around me, most of the ones that were going to go are already gone - not quite 'death, or mental institutions' but the left hand path often leads in that direction.

He seems sober, don't know what track marks he's hiding under them shirts. But dude has no filter on stage, he never fails to tell you, then he makes up for it big.

Well that sucks to hear. Looks like I won't get to see them live. I doubt that they're ever going to make it out to Aussieland.

Really wish EHG would officially release their demos somehow. That stuff just kills.
