I'll start:

"Painkiller" was the last good song by Judas Priest.

Everything else on that album and everything that I've heard that followed was pandering garbage or just plain garbage.

"It Would Be Cooler If You Did" is the last good song by Walter Schreifels.

That's debatable. I really like "Used For Glue" and "Holding Sand" off the Rival Schools album, and the rest of the disk is solid.

I was also just gifted Walter's solo album by our very own RalphSnart, and I really like some of his songs on it.

I'm not even that stoked on "Painkiller". I'd probably go back to a couple on 'Turbo' that were decent; the title track and "Out in the Cold". They just "good". Might need to go back to Vegeance or Defenders for the last GREAT track.

"Sink the Pink" seems like the last good AC/DC track to me.

"Painkiller" is catchy as all get out. It's sort of like the last Lord of the Rings movie, in that it has about five endings tacked on to it.

I think on today's WFH Snowpacolypse day, I'll run through the second era of Bruce Dickinson Maiden and see what their last good song was. Certainly wasn't anything on The Final Frontier.

Oh, here's one:

"14 Years" was the last good song by Guns n Roses. Izzy should've held on to that one and put it on the Ju Ju Hounds record.

That's a good call, 7th Son is the last ALBUM I enjoy, though I remember there being a few decent songs on Fear Of The Dark and such.

Prior to the Blaze Bailey period, I'll stick up for "Tailgunner" (probably the last all out classic they wrote), "Be Quick or Be Dead" (their attempt at "Painkiller"), "From Here to Eternity", and "Fear of the Dark." I only know "The Clansman" and "Sign of the Cross" from the Rock in Rio double live album, but I dig the shit out of them.

Brave New World is still solid. "Nomad" is the only out and out dog. On to the one with the shitty Microsoft Paint cover next.

That or Dust and Bones.

FWIW I saw Izzy on the first Ju Ju Hounds tour, and his band was really good.

I don't believe I've put on a G'nR album to actively listen to in over 20 years.

In hindsight, I guess "Civil War" was the last really good song? I remember when I saw them, in 1993 after Izzy had left and they were bringing a bunch of horn players and Rolling Stones wannabe bullshit, they opened the show with "It's so Easy" and "Mr. Brownstone" and I looked over at my buddy and said: "well, I guess I can go home now". My two favorite songs right out of the gate and while I stayed for the whole show, I would have been just as good if I had gone home after those two songs. Pretty underwhelming experience overall.

"Jellybelly" was the last good song by The Smashing Pumpkins.

(I just randomly heard that song and realized that the guitar tone is un-fuckwithable)

I will stand by "Machina" by Smashing Pumpkins. "Stand Inside Your Love" is a damned good song. So is "The Sacred And The Profane." Everything else is acceptable to me in one way or another, though it starts to get long in the tooth and samey by the end. It's one hour and thirteen minutes long. I need to revisit it and see if I can make it through the last few songs while still listening critically, though honestly if Billy had cut it at the 10th song, "Glass And The Ghost Children", I'd have a lot easier time getting through it.

I'd go a little further and standby most of the songs off "Rocks", but if we are talking sequence,
than I'll say "Lick And a Promise" since it's the 7th track on the album. Even the song "Draw The Line" sounds like the beginning of the end to the era
