agreed, although Sandrider is a worthy follow up group, whom I arguably might like more. That's a tough call though

Good call on the Beastie Boys. I sometimes forget that MCA passed away.
I would add Middian. Would love to hear some of Age Eternal live again.

x3 for Akimbo.

But I do actually like Sandrider more, so that helps a lot.

I think splitting up was the natural course/best thing they could have done at that particular point in time, but it would be REALLY interesting to hear what they could come up with together right now.

I also miss:

The Darkthrone era that blended Celtic Frost with their black metal influence.

I STILL cannot get over that we got no/zero/zilch bands post-Soundgarden that had the chops Soundgarden had after they retired in 1997 (and they're STILL retired imo). Give me a fuckin' break! There is a huge audience of people out there that are waiting for someone to do a credible Sabbath/Zeppelin experience as a functioning, current band, and it just hasn't happened since Soundgarden. So......... I guess I miss Soundgarden too.

Another for Akimbo, Satyricon the venue (pre-2010 Berbati's as well), Tool, Rebreather, and Dozer. That last album Akimbo did... jesus. I saw yesterday that Tool might actually be in the studio now, but who knows.

Add Saviours, Ancient Age, The Atomic Bitchwax, White Mice, and Iota to the list.

The Atomic Bitchwax is still playing, touring, and had a new song last time I saw them.

! Well I'm out of the loop. I just realized they had a FB page besides the old FB wiki thing.

DIO

Soilent Green

Punk-throne era Darkthrone. Hope the next album isn't going to be more half-assed attempts at speed metal on Fenriz's part. Everything from FOAD through Wagons was class. Of course I miss all the other styles they explored prior to that as well.

Solace is heading back into the studio to record a Sabbath tune for a comp, followed by an acrimonious breakup.

Acid King played Hoverfest here in Portland this Summer. Great show. If I remember correctly, they mentioned that they are currently working on a new record.
