I enjoyed Slow Southern Steel. You had your Ben Hogg, your toothless Kirk Fisher, your PBR tall boys, your stars and bars. I've only been down south a couple times and one thing I noticed was a real lack of rock on the radio. That shit was invisible. Mostly it was country, preaching and booty rap, I don't know if I even saw a single metalhead either. And the fact that all the states are like twice or three times the size of mine, with half the population (Arkansas?), no thanks. They touched on that in the movie when they were talking about how Miami is nowhere near anything else...not something I think of very often, but Florida is pretty isolated if you're trying to drive. I'll stick with the Northeast where I can be in like ten different states in six hours. Those guys would slap me if they heard me say New Haven was "too far" to go see Eyehategod.
