I had eye muscle surgery a few months ago, it's like omg is it my birthday I can see everything. Too bad I just wasted a session on a creature after seeing a movie for the first time seeing straight I'll have to wait to see drunk again it's like I can see through walls. There's no question how happy I am.

Had the surgery today at 9am and am able to look at the computer screen and type this at 2:30. I ain't gonna lie: My eyeballs felt like firebrands for about 3 hours. Nothing a handful of Advil and 3 fingers of Single Malt can't make better. The worst is over!

Glad you made it out alive Liberty!

I heard if you wear 3D glasses at the movies you have to do it all over again.

My doctor's wife was going blind, but they have some new treatment now where they inject stem cells into the eyes and apparently it works to restore vision. Not sure if it's a complete cure, but pretty amazing stuff.

I think I qualify for Lazik, but when I learned how the procedure goes, it creeped the heck out of me. I'm a wimp like that. I'll stick to contacts and glasses, I guess. Glad you're satisfied, 'caps.

3rd day after the surgery and light sensitivity is not as bad. Halo effect still noticeable, esp. at night driving. Slight nausea/motion sickness at times and a dip in energy level. Left eye may need to be done again. (It's paid for/included in my contract if so.) It's not as sharp as my right. Vistas and skyline colors and shapes really pop now, so this will be great for hiking.

What was it like having a laser shot into your eye and trying not to twitch? And then the other one?

The procedure itself wasn't bad. The pain for 3 hours after was. I still feel a bit out of it, tbh. It's getting better every day. I think a full week of recovery is about what i'll need. YMMV.

i had the lasik procedure done 7 years ago. a friend of mine went to a different lasik office and was prescribed valium to take beforehand. they didn't give me anything except numbing eyedrops

i went back to work the next week but found that staring at a computer screen kinda screwed up my vision and it was blurry driving home. my boss let me take the week off to get acclimated

would i get it done again ? hell no. the procedure only took five minutes but it was very unpleasant. am i glad i did it ? definitely

i'll need reading glasses when i get older but so far no issues

Thanks for the personal experience info. That's why i asked. It's been one week post surgery for me today. Distance vision with natural light is amazing already. In 3 months i'm sure everything else will get dialed in. If i need an enhancement to fine tune things, it's paid for and i'll do it.

I got Valium. It did help me relax during the procedure and sleep thru most of the post-op pain.
