Oh, and I'm still really looking forward to Ty Segall and Aeges albums this year. Both will probably make the list. If the Ty Segall album is anywhere as good as people are saying that it is, it's top three material, and a contender for my #1 spot.

Only album that has really won me over this year, so far, has been the Dwellers Pagan Fruit.

I didn't know there was a new Aeges...

Never did pick up the new Tombs because Newbury Comics never seems to have it.

My top three...actually the only three new releases I've bought all year:

1. Floor: Oblation
2. Fu Manchu: Gigantoid
3. Young Widows: Easy Pain

I am really enjoying the new Sigiriya album "Darkness died today", think I'd put it ahead of the new Greenleaf and Kamchatka in my top 3.

I'll add...
Corrosion of Conformity - IX

I 2nd these.....

Mastodon -Once More Round The Sun
Greenleaf - Trails & Passes
Eyehategod - S/T

Don't get all the love for the Fu Manchu. Want to like it but just can't get into it. Seems forced like most of the stuff post California Crossing.

I've only heard three:

Godflesh - Decline and Fall
Floor - Oblation
Swans - To Be Kind

I'd probably go with that order too, though I could flip a coin between Godflesh and Floor.

Music has a whole has fallen back big-time for me as a whole in 2014.

Stuff I've heard (sort of) that's working for me:

EYEHATEGOD
SWANS
Wovenhand
Mayhem (a BIG surprise how much I like this after Rune left)

Seeing GOBLIN, YOB and TOOL play in the sold-out NBA arena here in town and KRAFTWERK have been my live musical highlights of the year so far.

Best new band I've managed to stumble across - Blackwitch Pudding. Great old MELVINS worship.

The Aeges album isn't out yet, later this month. The track that they've previewed is quite smashing.

Got the Ty Segall. It's incredible. Whereas before, he'd kinda make an album quickly in one distinctive style, he took his time with this one, and it's all over the map. All killer songs, very diverse, very engaging album. Most likely will end up at the # 1 spot, as much as I love the newest The War On Drugs. I can't see anything possibly topping this that will come out this year, it's just too good.

And it's just wonderful to experience an artist evolve, try different things, then really reach their full potential. Who knows though, maybe he'll top even this masterpiece with his next album...

Blues Pills S/T
HARK - Crystalline
Monolord - Empress Rising
Nothing - Guilty of Everything
Atlas Moth - The Old Believer
Dwellers - Pagan Fruit
Mount Carmel - Get Pure
Bong Breaker - Mountain
Cauce - EP

Still a bunch of stuff to spend some more time with:

Earthless meets Heavy Blanket
Life and Times
Floor
Crippled Black Phoenix
Crowbar....

Of the stonerish variety on my short list, you folks should check out Prizehog - Re-Unvent The Whool and Sioux - The One And The Many.

Fuck man, that Temples album, "Sun Structures", is shit hot. Really cool retro-psych, very poppy and danceable. Right up my alley. That's going to be top five, glad someone recommended it to me.

Ordered my copy of the new Aeges album. Supposedly it's really awesome. The one song that they teased is really awesome...

Yob and Dwellers remain the 2 standouts, with Yob being leagues above anything else.

Nachtmystium, Blue Pills, Earth, Monolord, Beck, Pontiak, Morgan Delt, Pallbearer, Truckfighters, Sleepy Sun have all got some spins to varying degrees. Nothing too special from that group, yet, but maybe they will grow on me.
